We stumbling across this place. It was a hidden gem. We were served by a lovely waitress who was very accommodating. We ordered coffee and dessert. We were in search of lunch however, menu was limiting however to be expected. The hazelnut coffee was on point and the dessert was delicious. We went to pay our bill another lady who was bit older, really undid the previous customer service. She was frazzle with doing the bill and she was brash and honestly made her work look very painful. That was the only disappointing part of this experience.

As a European if you are talking Hazelnuts you are speaking my language, it’s not a tasting centre for freebies, it’s the growers farm and a gorgeous cafe. The infused Hazelnut coffee is too die for, supplemented by hazelnut cookies for us, lovely helpful staff we ended up buying a big bag of dry roasted hazelnuts omg with ice cream l am in heaven. Travelling around we munched on chocolate hazelnuts. Good god it was like being back in Switzerland, beautiful gardens down a tree lined picturesque drive this shrine to the nut is well worth the visit, love it.

There is a nice smelling cafe and restaurant but we couldn't find a tasting centre. We didn't stay to have any food as we were looking for hazelnuts, a bit disappointing

Thanks for your feedback QueenBAus. We have many hazelnut products on our display shelf and the restaurant staff are very happy to oblige customers with answers to questions while they serve, to the best of their knowledge. If you could let me know which staff member you asked about the hazelnuts I would be glad to ensure their knowledge of hazelnuts is improved for next time. Should you wish a full service tasting or hazelnut farm tour, these are paid activities and should be booked in advance to ensure the farmers are available to answer all questions in depth. Details of these are available on our website, and were on the information wall at the restaurant at the time of your visit.

We made a special trip to Hazelbrae Hazelnut Farm today but when we arrived there was a sign on the farm gate saying "closed for winter". That's fine, but today is 15 May. Winter starts on 1 June, still more than 2 weeks away. There was also a phone number below the sign on the farm gate so we phoned and a lady answered and confirmed that they were in fact closed for the winter. We know from past experience that a lot of Tasmanian tourist attractions do close for the winter so we actually checked the hazelnut farm website this morning to check their opening hours before we made a special trip, and their website stated, yes, they were open today. You cannot operate as a tourist attraction and just change the rules whenever it suits you. People actually come to your venue and want to spend money and view your products. We were very disappointed. Change your website if you want to start your holidays early !! We just checked the website again now and it still says they are open.

Thanks for the advice in this poor review, but we didn't just decide to take holidays early, my senior staff has gone on prac, and we are exhausted from a longer than usual harvest, which I will complete once my child, who is currently sick with a cough that continues all night till he vomits, recovers. This is a family business, which is clearly described on the website and there are times when we must put our family's mental and physical health first. We cannot predict when these times occur. Our closure was posted on Facebook on Sunday night after our last day, and the website update was delayed due to my son being ill. This is our family business, and we generally work 7 days a week in it so we can, and will, continue to 'change the rules' if we feel desperate enough to do so.
