Been meaning to try this since the refurb and had never made it until now. Loved the service from the outset, door opened for us as we entered and then we were led to our table. Friday night had a Jazz night which was nice. Prices a little more than I expected but we opted for the tapas which was reasonable. We had the bruschetta, calamari & saganaki for 2 which were lovely and plenty of food for 2. Wine by the glass was well priced and we enjoyed attentive service from the lovely Sylvia. I plan to return!

I went there with a friend for lunch and we both eat out a lot.The door was opened by a friendly waiter. A good start! Seated quickly. Another tick! Water and menu brought quickly. Another tick! We both chose the seafood paella. It was served quickly. it was hot and contained a fair amount of seafood. The rice was nicely cooked and a little nutty. Accompanying the meal was some excellent toasted olive bread to mop up the juices. Another tick. The thing that stood out was the excellent service. The young staff was professional, friendly, attentive and moved around the tables. I think a number of highly and over priced city restaurants could send their staff here to see how it is done. The coffee was excellent. I asked for a weak flat white and that was what I got. We were there early and the seats were filling up even though it was a Monday lunchtime. The staff did not try to get us away even though it was becoming busy. A large number of people were obviously repeat customers. A good sign. Nice place for a coffee and cake. We will be back again.

Fantastic restaurant and cafe, staff were so friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was amazing with a variety to choose from. Drinks were good too! Lots of tables to sit at with some outdoor seating to watch the busy world go by. Highly recommend breakfast, lunch or dinner here! Might need to book as it looks like it could get quiet busy some days.

Had arancini (partner had something else from their breakfast menu), $13, which I was expecting it to be one large arancini but came in 3 medium sized balls. So crunchy on the outside & perfectly cooked. 5/5

Their soy chai latte using real chai tea leaves is one of the best soy chai latte I have ever had. 5/5

Also ordered their Italian donut which I think had rum it in with raisins. Also great. 5/5.

Service could be improved slightly but it’s still good. Took a while before the waiter noticed that we had finished our meal & was eagerly waiting to order our coffee & dessert. Pay at the till & there’s surcharge for AMEX.

At $76.50 for 2, it is not on the cheap side.

We’ve been here many times since it opened. The food is always top quality but we’d like to see a few more choices. It’s also becoming a bit pricey for a casual drop in. Lunch that is. Perhaps some very nice toasties etc.

Cannot fault the staff. There’s two guys ( both with beards) and one lady ( short Italian ) who are always so friendly and welcoming. They make the place what it is! They are a very important part of what makes this cafe the must go to place in Blackburn.

In fact it’s so good, the locals are becoming very protective of any little changes.

Cheers John and Rosemary
