This little out of the way restaurant sits high above the seaside town of Positano on the Amalfi coast. It is well wort the trek up the narrow (and I emphasize the word narrow) road that winds precariously up the mountain. Once you get there, you forget the harrowing trip up the mountain because you are so overcome by the amazing view up and down the whole of the Amalfi Coast. The restaurant looks down onto Positano. I recommend that you go at sunset, because the view of the sun setting over Positano is wonderful. As night falls you see the lights of the town flicker on - looking like a jewel on the Mediterranean sea.
Once you're situated in the rustic charm of the dining room, hold on tight because you are about to embark upon an amazing journey through a wide range of Italian cuisine. All of the food is locally sourced and fresh. Most of the vegetables and herbs are gown on the property. It is a traditional meal served in multiple courses - antipasto (not one but several), followed by pasta (not one type of pasta but several and each in a different sauce), followed by the main course of delicious grilled meats (not one -but we had rabbit, beef, pork and sausage), accompanied by locally made wine, vegetables and potatoes, followed by deserts (we had 4 different deserts), then washed down with espresso, tea and the "digestivo" of arancello and a pomegranate liquor.
In addition to the great meal there was music and singing. What a great time we had.
