We stayed here on a Sierra Club trip. Rooms were quaint and comfortable. Thanks goodness the air conditioning worked great. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Rodolfo in particular explained different places to walk and went out of his way to be helpful. Everybody loved the chocolate tour. It was way better than I expected. The walk over on the suspension bridge was scary but fun. It was so long and high. Got to see some animals in the wild.

We visited Tirimbina for the Chocolate tour. Hillary was our guide and she did a wonderful explanation of the history and process of how we get Chocolate. We had many opportunities to participate in the presentation. This alone is worth the visit to Tirimbina. I loved the grounds and their gift shop had the best prices of the whole trip. Thanks for a fun and informative presentation.

We visited the lodge for the chocolate tour, we walked across the suspension bridge and through the rain forest to see how cocoa is grown and turned into chocolate.

It was an excellent tour seeing wildlife as we walked to the cocoa trees. It is magnificent to see the forest and the guide was excellent

This place was a highlight of our trip. We saw more wildlife here than anywhere else and it is not overly "touristy". Now let me say this, this place is a non-profit reserve, so the accommodations are comfortable, but the place is beautiful. As we were walking up to the place from the parking lot, one of the maintenance employees pointed out to us the monkeys in the trees. On the backside of the lodge, is a large suspension bridge that takes you across the river and into the rainforest, were there are many trails to take that you can do at your leisure or with a tour guide. During the day we walked the trails ourselves, however we did do a guided night tour, which was amazing! We saw howler monkeys, white faced monkeys, sloths, red-eyed tree frogs, and a snake. The lodge also has a small restaurant and bar that has good food. This place is perfect for someone who just wants to enjoy nature. I highly recommend it.

We decided to go to Tirimbina last minute and didn't regret at any moment. We have been to the area many times and visited several of the hotels, but this one is definitely my new favorite! Service is great and the prices are very accessible. Rooms are clean and comfortable. You can choose between those with or without private bathroom & airco. But the biggest plus is for certain the 300Ha private reserve they have across the river. To get there you have to cross an impressive 250mtr hanging bridge over the Sarapiqui river offering some great views. On the other side of the bridge there are 9kms of trails, including another hanging bridge. Think about it if you go to other places you already pay 10-20$ pp for just going on the trails...
