As soon as we drove into the Darwin Lake holiday village we were blown away by the beautiful holiday cottages.

We didn't need to check in as the manages has rang on the Sunday and told us the number for the key box. She was so helpful too and asked if we had any requests...and sure enough when we arrived there was a BBQ waiting outside for us, there was a travel cot I'm the bedroom and a highchair set aside in the kitchen.

The beds were HUGE and so comfortable and the accommodation had everything we could have asked for. One thing that didn't bother us at all, but a couple of guests were slightly disappointed by was that we couldn't sit out the back of the Beeley...we had to have a BBQ in the front garden. Even some paving stones or small area that is cleared out the back would give people a little privacy. We were more than happy though!

The only thing that could make it any better in the future would be a little park for the children to play in, a small shop would definitely make a profit as holiday makers are always keen to take away a holiday momento or even just replenish their milk supplies and finally I noticed a lazy spa hot tub erected outside one of the other cottages...if guests could request this prior to their visit for a small premium, we would most definitely have done this!!

We LOVED our stay and can't wait to return in April when we are bringing our whole family and taking over three cottages!

Myself and three friends stayed in the Wensley cottage for a 3 night break. The holiday village was beautiful the grounds and lake were immaculately kept. The house we stayed in was finished to a very high standard. It was extremely well equipped, right down to washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. Outside there was a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the good weather. There are no facilities on site but you can take a short walk to the other site where there is a pub restaurant cafe and shop. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Darwin Lake holiday village to anyone.

Fantastic accommodation with great facilities set in beautiful surroundings. A little off the beaten path but it is within easy reach of Matlock Bath and other attractions so worth the drive. The cottages themselves are tastefully furnished & decorated. Really lovely all round.

Stayed for 1 night, beautiful setting, stunning views. Lovely spacious and clean accommodation , very comfy and large bed. It was lovely to wake up in the peaceful steering hearing the birds singing. Lots of outside seating to enjoy a morning coffee. I would definitely stay again.
