“Beautiful Chalet!”
Reviewed 22 January 2018 for a stay in December 2017

We were two families staying over New Year. The Chalet is a great size and good location (albeit up a steep hill), close to the slopes and town. Beautiful views, lovely and cosy. Kitted out with everything you will need. Owner is extremely helpful.

A really beautifully appointed and luxurious chalet. We had a fabulous holiday and were sad to leave. Owners a pleasure to deal with and the manager in Saae Fee was really helpful. The views from our balcony were stupendous and the weather glorious. We will certainly be back to this wonderful retreat.

“Lovely chalet in a great location with amazing views.”

I stayed at Chalet Samuraj with 5 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of space and it has a typically Germanic/Swiss well built, solid feel to it. The living area is open plan and sitting on one of the comfortable dining chairs with a coffee, having just woken up, enjoying the amazing views is a memory I will cherish. The chalet is very well equipped with 3d TV, DVD player, Xbox, Bose soundlink, oven, microwave, kettle, dishwasher, coffee machine, slow cooker and even a fondue set-which came in handy. The fireplace, underfloor heating and powerful hot water system made the chalet a cosy place to be and it is also on the sunny side of the valley and has a built in BBQ and large terrace as well as balconies that give breathtaking views.

If you are skiing then this is without doubt the best end of the village as it is close to the village ski area and lift system's to access the higher slopes. The main street and village centre are only 5 minutes walk away. Saas Fee is also a great place to learn to ski as you can buy a village lift pass which is relatively cheap and you generally don't have fast skiers/snow boarders swooshing past you. You can also rent a ski locker/drying room by the slopes and when the children are fed up with skiing you can hire toboggans or go swimming in the Wellness Centre with new pool and water slide.

We didn't find the slope up to the chalet too bad and that includes a 70 year old. The steepest bit is the last 50 metres which is a footpath and where the taxi drops you off, just take your time if you need to. There are also various routes up to the chalet from the village which are less steep than the way the taxi initially takes you.

The owners are a pleasure to deal with, respond quickly to any issues, fair, detail oriented and proud of their home.

Saas Fee itself is a beautiful little alpine village which has a rustic, real world charm that doesn't feel spoilt by tourism and the people are friendly. You can be enjoying a drink in a lively apres ski bar 1 minute and walk around the corner to see a load of farm animals bedded in for winter in a chalet style barn the next.

“Great winter holiday!”

Thank for the great winter holiday in this beautiful chalet! The house was really great. The rooms are light, clean and nice. The views are amazing. We could see the whole city of Saas Fee and the mountains. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything one might need. The climbing to the house is a bit tricky but it is worth it. The only problem we had was with the baby carriage. We had three children with us (age 7, 5 and 2) and everyone was happy. They could play in the snow just near the house.
If you ski it might be difficult to carry all the equipment with you upstairs. So it would be better to take a locker by the slopes. The skiing is really great there. Especially for those who is good in it. But there are as well slopes for every type of skiing.
The city is very nice. There are lots of restaurants and shops. As cars are not allowed the air is wonderful.
And thanks a lot to the master of the house who had always been ready to help us with everything we needed. Don't hesitate to choose this very place and house for your holiday.
