Stayed a couple of nights at Hotel Steinbock. The welcome was very friendly. Immediately felt welcome, and that is for all staff. Very kind people. The house and rooms are spotless clean. Breakfast good. Was not keen on the buffet style but good selection. Dinner was very good. Pricey, but good quality and taste.
Garage is convenient.
All together enjoyed the stay vety much, although it is pricey, nur suppose That's just Switzerland

For a great vacation spot Pontresina Switzerland and the Hotel Stienbock is a great place to check out. If it has a negative, it isn't set up for handicap people. There are steps every where. For us on this trip that wasn't a problem. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, giving you a home feel. We recommend this place to stay for sure.

Very nice hotel with helpful staff and great food. Nice choice of wine. Give you a pass for all the local transportation-bus, train, tram etc. Great hiking. Train ride to Diavolezza tram for great views of Piz Bernina and Palu. Climb the later from the tram area. There is a great diner across the street with views, beer, etc. On Friday there was an alphorn concert but on by two local musicians.

Room tip: Request away from the main road but really not an issue as quiet at night anyway,

Perfect location from which to explore in and around Pontresina. We had a smaller room with shared toilet/ shower but was very tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. Amazing breakfast each morning, free use of all buses, chairlifts, and mountain railways , free use of mountain bike and bike, and very helpful staff who helped us organise our days to get the most out of our stay. Close to town and 25 min walk from railway station, but shuttle provided when needed

Room tip: We had smaller rooms on top floor with shared bathroom, but lower floors own bathrooms

We stayed in Room 32, which was small, but adequate. There was a nice view. I confess we were hoping that they might upgrade us to a larger room, as this is the VERY quiet time in this town. With the system of leaving keys out they had, we could see there was maybe 1/4 occupancy. However, it was made clear to us that there would be no upgrade without paying more. Obviously, that’s their prerogative, but, when a hotel is so empty, most places will give you a nicer room if you ask politely – which we did. At any rate, there was very good service with a pick up to and from the train station. It’s too far to walk with luggage, and uphill. There is no elevator, air-conditioning, or fans; but there was a heated towel rack. Breakfast was very good. There’s a Coop store nearby, also.
