I have been lucky enough to eat at Adel.es on three or four occasions over the last two years. The atmosphere is really warm and welcoming; a fact that is not immediately obvious at first glance of the contemporary decor. If you eat here you will no doubt meet the owner Anja who is always working the tables with a smile (and thankfully speaks English fluently).
The food is fantastic! My personal favorite dishes have been the surf and turf, a risotto made from a local mushrooms and honestly one of the best chili soups I've ever tasted. All this can be washed down with a wine from an impressive list, or a glass of Alsfelder (a great local beer).
It is easy to run up a sizable tab, and the decor feels high-end but they do offer some good low/moderate priced options. The flammkuchen (pizza looking dish) is cheap and really good. I’ve had cheap and expensive meals here, and in either case there is no rush to get you out the door
Alsfeld is a bit of a commute from Frankfurt, but sightseeing this beautiful German town followed by dinner at Adel.es is a day well spent.
