The decor might be classified as traditional bordering on dated however, the service and warmth of the staff make for a very pleasant stay. The breakfast was lovely with a wide choice of options. Overall, good value for money at what is an 'old school' Bavarian hotel.

Very nice hotel with kind people at reception. Clean room and comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast. Spa and swimming pool will restore you after a cold day... By the way, you can join also a wonderful yoga lesson in a relaxing atmosphere made by an expert and patient teacher.

Beautifully located on the shore of Tegernsee, this historical hotel is a gem itself among the beauties of the lake.
Cozy and warm, wood and carpet everywhere.
A little bit old but well maintained.
The restaurant is good and open until 10 pm.
It is really on the lake shore, just cross the road.
Beautiful small town within walking distance.

There was certainly a time in the past when this hotel was more brilliant, but it seems the place is stuck in the past. A great location on the lake, but the inside is all a bit tatty. The staff on the reception were trainees with no clue. The stay was comfortable, but overpriced for the offer.

The 3* are perhaps not completely justified because the Hotel offers a lot. However - the Hotel looks tired and is living on it's glorious past times. But the prices are still on the very pricey side. This is not a good match!

The good things:
The rooms (although old fashioned) are good and the bathroom (although very outdated) have all you want.
The breakfast buffet is excellent!
The Swimming Pool, Sauna and Hot Pool very good (however they will appear on the negatives as well..)

The less enjoying things:
The price reflects a top standard Hotel which it is no longer.
To reach the Pool one has to walked through a long internal corridor, then through a tunnel and then up some stairs...
To get to the Sauna one has to leave the Swimming Pool area and walk through another tunnel, then pass an unused bar/pub and eventually you are there. To reach the Hot Pool and or Gym you have to leave the Sauna area again and walk another short walk to reach these facilities. All this is extremely inconvenient if you want a relaxing time...

If the prices would be more reasonable and take into account the problems one faces the Hotel would be worth coming back to.
