We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's right near the Centre of town and close to everything. The rooms look like they have been recently renovated. They are very large by European standards, well appointed and comfortable.
The hotel is part of the family brewery so it's great to go downstairs for a beer and some traditional Bavarian food.
Breakfast was delicious and we had great service too.
This is a hotel we would definitely come back to.

Traditional mid size hotel with an own brewery and restaurant. Good breakfast, nice, clean and comfy and obviously recently renovated rooms. There´s a beergarden in the yard and the copper brew kettles are right in the restaurant where you can choose from a buffet. Friendly staff and free wifi.

Room Tip: View to the Obermarkt is nice

Went to Bavaria, flew into Munich. Went for business and was sad to leave. The town of Murnau and the Griesbrau Hotel are both outstanding. As is the Police Department. Had my I Phone stolen and Officer Roedl would not allow such things in HIS district! Gave them my SIM card number, (always have that somewhere so you can access it) they pinged it, found it, and returned it. Thief removed Otter Box and threw the phone away!

A very nice hotel right in the centre of town yet quiet. Several restaurant options including the fabulous Brauhaus-Brewery. Simply decorated, clean, reasonably large rooms. Good breakfast too. Can't fault it.

The Griesbrau is centrally located at one end of the main street of Murnau. Everything is within walking distance. The staff are very helpful and most speak English. I recommend staying at rooms that look out onto the main street. attached to the hotel there is a restaurant with the same name that offers canteen style food. the menu doesn't change but the quality is fair.
