I have come here regularly since this place has reopened with its new concept and have tried a variety of dishes.
This place is a butcher shop with an attached restaurant. The shop sells top quality meat and charcuterie from locally sourced animals. The restaurant offers typical Bavarian cuisine of a high standard in a lovely, bright space and a relaxed atmosphere. I usually come here to have lunch. Opening times are Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday 7:30-20:00 Wednesday until 14:00.
Although the owner is a butcher, the vegetarian options on the menu like the Käsespätzle (lots of cheese, no cream) or the oven-roasted vegetables are really tasty! The salad is fresh, the dressing doesn't overwhelm, but helps lift the flavours. I usually have a Weißwurst with Brezn and Weißbier. With Weißwurst I am extremely picky. Here is one of the few places I will eat it. The meat dishes are always excellent and haven't disappointed until now. The accompanying vegetables are always cooked to perfection, like the cabbage I had today with some Geschnetzeltes. Not cooked to a mush, but still some bite with a lovely sprinkling of caraway. The cook seems to really knows his stuff!
Service is welcoming and friendly. The coffee is also great!
