We stayed for three nights, at a leisure trip in July 2015. We found the hotel through the local tourist office webpage - and what a gem we found ourselves here. The Hotel Seepromenade is a little family run hotel in the very charming and picturesque town of Meersburg. The hotel is situated directly at the shore of the Bodensee or Lake Constance as it is called in English. Rooms and bathrooms are a little on the small side but works well and sleeping quality is good, beds are very good and there are silent during the night. The hotel also runs a restaurant where they serve excellent food, and this is also where they serve the breakfast in the morning, a very nice breakfast infact. The small town is sure worth a visit, and when you go through the quite steep main street (Pedestrian) to the upper town, you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the city, the lake and the Austrian Alps in the distance, also on the top there is a Castle and a winery, where you can taste the local wine. The Hotel is also a good place to discover the lake and the towns around the lake, as the ferries docks just next to the Hotel. You are able to, in one day, to visit three European countries as the lake borders to Germany, Austria and Switzerland. There are quite a few charming towns to visit in the area besides Meersburg. The staff at hotel is very kind and very serviceminded, and we had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Seepromonade, and can absolutely recommend the hotel aswell as the town and the Lake Constance area.

Room Tip: Choose a room with lake view

We went to Meersburg for a long weekend to celebrate our daughter's 30th birthday. We stayed at the Seepromenade and had a great time. The location is excellent, the rooms were
comfortable and clean and breakfast very good, served us sekt on the actual day and flowers on a reserved table. The added bonus is an excellent restaurant with a terrace overlooking the lake. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

This hotel provides a good base for visiting the area (or working locally), since it's 10 minutes walk from the Konstanz ferry which runs 24/7 with several bus routes (and the MyFernbus stop) nearby.
Room prices seems to vary by a) size b) whether there is a Lake view c) season ?

The hotel proclaims itself to be a family-run hotel and restaurant and hence does not provide Hilton-like lavish facilities - there is a variety of bedrooms each with modern en suite bathroom/shower (basic toiletries provided, towels, large radiator and fan heater), double glazed windows with window shutters, double/twin beds with twin duvets, 28" TV, a wardrobe, and tables according to the room size.
The room central heating works well in the cold, and the window shutters can be let down to keep out the chill if necessary before Spring kicks in !
Rooms at the front of the hotel no doubt have beautiful Lake views ...

In the daytime/evening the restaurant provides a variety of German (schnitzels ...) and other dishes plus an Italian menu, with a good selection of beers and local and other wines, also an ice-cream selection.

For breakfast you have the standard 'continental' - breads, meats, salads, rolls, preserves, cereals, fruit juices, tea/coffee. However this is only available from 8.00-ish onwards.
The restaurant staff are very attentive and helpful, though not all speak English.

If you are booked to stay in the hotel and are likely to initially arrive out of restaurant hours it is essential to give them a phone call in advance during hours so that arrangements for a key can be made, since there are no overnight staff to let you in. Residents' entry to the accommodation is by the side entrance rather than through the restaurant.

The hotel provides free Wifi but the unit is not mounted high up on the wall hence coverage is patchy ... I have mentioned this to staff! There is also a T-Mobile hotspot just outside if you have a login code from your home telecoms supplier.

There are plenty of other restaurants and coffee shops/ wine cellars nearby once the season gets started (mid-April), the Seepromenade seems to open most evenings in any case.
There is a Michelin-starred restaurant in the town, or there is the Duetto Italian which seems to do decent food and wine - if you don't mind the 80's soundtrack !

You can get boat trips across the lake from the ferry / tour boats less than a minute from the front door. Alternatively you can explore the old town of Meersburg up the hill.
There is a supermarket right at the top of the hill across the road (go via the underpass) with opening hours 8.00-19.00 (this may change seasonally). Next to it is the local SparKasse bank where there are ATM/cash machines inside, it seems to be accessible until late.

Room Tip: If you want a room with a Lake view then this place has it ! or you can pay bit less for a comfy roo...
