Was looking for something to eat after working late. First night staying in bingen and didnt know where to go. Stumbled upon this place and was pleased i did. Nice atmosphere, nice place. Huge steak which was cooked perfectly. Their own red wine was lovely. Here all week so may go back.

My wife had the pork dish with asparagus and I had the beef steak. Both main courses were works of art and high quality like we would expect at a top end restaurant in the US. We were complimented with an appetizer by the chef who also came to our table to help explain some of the menu choices. The waitress brought two wines to the table to help us decide which we would like. The restaurant makes its own sorbet which was truly outstanding. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in or near Bingen. The restaurant also features a liqkor; the chef gave us a taste before purchasing which we did at the paying of the bill. The service, the attentiveness, the romantic atmosphere and the food quality all combined for an exquisite dining experience.

We stayed in Bingen for two nights and had our best meals here. Better (and less costly) than Zollamt. A GREAT local wine selection. Superb food. Owner speaks English (my German is very weak). Perfect atmosphere. Outdoor seating or inside in a former old wine cellar.

We tried 2 of the daily specials and both were delicious. The garlic cream sauce and the mushroom sauce would be good on anything! We also tried a local red wine, Jost, that was recommended and enjoyed it. We finished with a chocolate banana mousse. Excellent location for a relaxed, reasonably-priced meal. Service was also great as we struggled a little with the German menu, but they took the time to translate it for us.
