Wonderful hotel with super comfortable rooms. Lovely bathroom with yummy robes and slippers. The bed was great with quality pillows and comforters. We loved everything about this hotel but as nice as it is, the service was even better. Everyone was amazing and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. The food was outstanding. Wait til you experience the breakfast! Wow! Every nook and cranny of this delightful hotel was worth the visit. All the stress melts away as you take in the forest air and enjoy the tranquility of the setting. One of our favorite travel destinations.

I am torn between a 4-5 star and a 1 star rating.
Lets start with the pros. Beautiful building inside and out. Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast buffet, nice rooms. Good kitchen. Great chimney lobby hall. Very quiet.
Everything, nearly, to make this hotel a real treat.
And the cons: Ultra complex lighting system. In order to be able to switch off the right lamp in your room you have to read a tightly typed 1 page manual. Totally crazy.
They ”offer” free wifi in the rooms. This borders on a cheat. The wifi signal in our room was extremely week and fluctuated between zero and nearly zero. The 4 different password/user combos given to us over a 24 hours time span did not work, not one. In short, the hotel does not offer wifi connectivity at all. The hotel has outsourced the internet service to an outside organization which seems to give a damn. Or went belly-up some years ago.
And since the hotel is in a somewhat remote spot there is no cell phone coverage by any of the major providers. You’re really stuck!
The spa was under recon, somewhat strange to do this at the start of the tourist season but you get a 30% reduction on the published room rates.
Additionally you get a bottle of bubbly in your room. This is more of an insult than an excuse. It is a 3 euro bottle of sweet dishwater from a discount store. In a five star hotel!! Shows the managements appreciation for their guests.
It still annoys me while writing this, so I’ll stay with 1 star. What a pity.

Room tip: Ask for a room with functioning internet access! They're rare.

Lieber Samuel80337,

<Mea culpa, maxima culpa!>

Warum tun Sie so etwas?

On the basis of many positive feedbacks, we decided to order few days in the hotel Relais & Chateaux Hotel Jagdhof Glasgutte.

Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The halls and our room were quite dark and furniture was obsolete. In addition the SPA space was not as described in feedbacks and reviews on the internet. At the time we went to SPA there were no towels, even water to drink ?! The SPA space looked quite used and obsolete. Our room was very dark, and despite good reviews on cleanliness and good service at a moment we found out we do not have a soap in the bathroom ?!

We spent three days in the hotel, as we had a demi-pension, we were supposed to have a dinner each evening in the restaurant, but.... Each evening we had to explain to a waiter that we are having a demi-pension, always waiter left and went somewhere to "discuss" our "demand"?! Last evening, the head waiter came and said "I have no knowledge, that you are having a dinner"...came back in 20 - 30 minutes, during which we were quite embarrassed and keen to leave without a dinner...finally he came back and offered us a dinner, we did not enjoy at all...

The corridors of the hotel were always full of smoke because of bad functioning of fire-place in the main hall...

As regards hiking possibilities, there were not that much, as described by the hotel.

in general, we were disappointed and we did not get what we expected for a lot, lot of money we paid. Certainly it is not 5 star hotel, maybe 4 stars....

The experience this hotel has imprinted in my and husband minds is extraordinary. The hotel itself is really cozy and warm. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, they pay attention to the tiniest detail and ensure your stay is pleasurable. And when they say they want you to feel like part of the family they really mean it and act on it. I would definitely come back to the hotel different time of the year and try some of the activity they have around the area along with hiking, horse back riding, and hunting ( for mushrooms maybe)
The dinner we had was amazingly delicious and refined. The breakfast is scrumptious with wide array of fresh produce and baked goods.
I would definitely recommend this place for honeymooners as it's sort of isolated yet dreamy, with reasonable options of activities.

And millions thanks to the amazing staff that made me feel part of their family.

We stayed here at the end of June. We were very skeptical, certainly would never had found it without our GPS. However, what a surprise, we really loved the place. The check-in process is a little cumbersome and the fireplace on in the middle of summer was a little comical. The room was perfect made ready for our two little dogs. The hotel is very dog friendly and have lots of place for dogs. We took a dip in the indoor pool (nice) and had a nice sweat in the sau-na. We had pre drinks in the piano bar, very very very nice bar man who made excellent drinks. (The Moscow Mule is excellent). Ate in one of the three restaurants for some nice oysters and ribs. When we came back to the room the free mini bar was restocked, as well as turn down. Slept very nice only to be awaken to the sounds of birds waking up. Had the most amazing breakfast before checking out. I mean they had everything in the set up. Simply im-pressive. Highly recommend this place for a weekend getaway. Will definitely return.
