This is a small and cosy café, a mixture between a café, an antiques shop and like visiting a friend's house. Good coffee and cakes available.

Not so far away from the castle, is this Cafe, where you can have a coffee and cakes. They also serve sandwiches. The place is small though.

As this place was rated #1 on TripAdvisor, we decided to visit this afternoon for tea and cake. Quaintly decorated. Very few seats. Unfortunately, we found the cakes somewhat lacking in decoration and creativity, so we decided to go to the "Cafe am Dom" instead, who had a wider selection of cakes and were more decorative. People eat with their eyes... please put more effort into presentation and be a bit more creative, then we may be tempted to try them next time ;-)

Hallo " SmokinMedia"
Sabine

We were looking for a place to have an afternoon tea or coffee. Having read some very positive reviews, we headed here and wow - I am embarrassed to say that we were suitably ripped off. We entered to a very crowded smallish dining area that had a number of couches, and lounge type chairs with one large dining type table for about six people...we found a table at the very back. The joint was hopping as being quite popular - we asked to seat at the back where we saw the opening to which the young lady replied "Sure, it is open". We then sat there in a smallish room where there was one other empty table and waited for at least 15 minutes - could well have been longer. Eventually, a group of three came and occupied the other empty table. After settling their coats, they went around to the counter where the young lady that greeted us was and placed their order (apparently they had been here before) - yah, see they don't tell you that you have to come up and get what you want - yet they had servers (still haven't figured that part out). My wife ordered two Mint Tea - but reported the cakes looked very dry so decided not to bother. The Tea was a glass of hot water with some mint leaves....that was it...mint leaves and water for 5 Euro... Not sure how this place gets the reviews it does but they certainly were not having the hot mint water...trendy is one thing but this is the Emperor's New Clothes from what we could tell.

Thank John L

hallo john

Dear John,
how nice that we'd the chance to have you as a costumer in our trendy coffeeshop! As you've already mentioned, our Café is very well visited and we're actually very pleased about that! We'd love to explain our concept to you:
Our cakes, that are of course home-made and freshly baked every day, are a large collection of traditional recipes of grandmas and granddads all over Europe. Thereby it would've been very kind of you if you'd tried our cakes before judging whether they're 'dry' or not.
Furthermore, a 'fresh' mint tea is necessarily made of fresh mint leaves and boiling hot water. And a price of 2,50€ per cup is definitely not unusual.
We'd also like to make you aware of the fact that there is a small hint on every table in the coffeeshop that asks our valued guests to order at the counter. All of the orders are then brought to the tables by our service team. As you already wrote, our Café was very well visited when you arrived, so that might explain the fact that you and your accompaniment had to wait a bit longer. Our team is always endeavoured to serve our costumers quickly and friendly. Pleased guests are our goal but your feedback is regrettably quite elusive to us and doesn't meet our aspirations of high qualitative catering trade.
Thank you! The Zuckerstück-team.
sabine
