Fantastic place for lunch

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 7 Aug 2019
We visited here last week, after walking up the mountain for the fantastic views over Mont Blanc. Excellent food in a wonderful setting and accommodated all ten of us readily. Great staff, brilliant service and good value for money. I would especially recommend the Tartiflette if you've worked up an appetite but everything else looked great too!

This spacious restaurant was ideal for our party of 8, being right at the base of the slopes. The staff were very friendly and service good. Most of us had the plated hour which was porc ribs and was really tasty. Beers and wines were also great so overall a very nice place to take a break.

Location
A real ski in ski out hotel with ski hire shop and lift pass office a few minutes walk away making it a perfect location. The town is a 5 minute drive down the mountain, there is also a free bus running every half hour and the Chavannes telecabin between 9&5 for walkers and skiers.
There are many walking paths including a good 40 minute walk to the top of the Morzine Pleney telecabin.
The hotel has a warm boot/ski room and a seating area in the garage to use when putting your boots on.
Hotel facilities
The bedrooms have plenty of hanging and storage space, some have balconies. The bathrooms with bath have powerful showers although no screen or curtain. Toiletries are provided although they weren’t topped up automatically.
The food especially the evening meals were excellent with a mixture of local specialities and exquisitely presented 4 course Michelin star style meals. In the Winter you probably need a jumper in the restaurant area til it warms up.
The staff were friendly, relaxed but attentive. There was a comfortable bar lounge with a log fire.
Personal preference would be for duvets rather than blankets.
Overall staff and location and good snow conditions made it an excellent week.

Room tip: Some 2nd floor rooms slightly bigger and have balconies

Have recently returned from Les Gets, we can throughly recommend this hotel. We were made to feel incredibly welcome. The hotel owners Anne and her staff made sure we were looked after. Please note it's a five minute drive down the mountain into the town of Les Gets. Our family of 5 shared a room which had a mezzanine and a view of the piste. They have a varied menu, with the usual delicious Savoyard dishes as well as some different ones. Breakfast was continental with a good selection of pastries, bread, ham, cheese, cereal and jams. It's extremely popular as a lunch destination, so may be worth booking to avoid disappointment.

Anne and Christian run an iconic auberge right on the ski slopes above Les Gets. The ambience is warm and friendly, the food is good authentic Savoyards, the service is superb Bravo Croix Blanche! If you ski you can walk strait onto the piste, if not you can sit in the sun on the terrace and then enjoy some superb walks through the forrest. The rooms are homely and beautifully clean. Altogether it makes for a great holiday.

The restaurant is in the centre of the key pistes above Les Gets and provides very good alpine region dishes.you can sit inside or out and view the skiers on their way down. Menu and prices are pretty typical of the restaurants by the slopes
