We stayed at the Hotel Chinfrey in Feb 2011 for a weekend's ski break.

The best thing about the hotel was the location. Only 5 minutes walk (probably less if you're not in ski boots!) from the Les Perrieres lift, and close to a ski hire shop. The town centre was about 10 minutes away - slightly uphill so felt quicker on the way back.

The rooms were very small (even by ski hotel standards). It was quite difficult to find anywhere to put our stuff. The bed wasn't that very comfortable. The shower had a curtain which didn't go all the way round, so a lot of water ended up on the floor.

One warning - if you're going out in the evening, make sure you ask for the front door security code. They don't automatically volunteer it, but the hotel closes quite early. We came back at 10.30pm on the first night and it was all locked up! Luckily one of the employees was still outside having a cigarette, so was able to let us in. We asked for the code for the next night.

Overall I'd say this hotel was an okay budget option for a few nights (not many hotels seem to accept short break guests in the peak ski season), but if you wanted to stay for week I think there's lots of better value options available.

Stayed for 3 nights at Le Chinfrey as a group of 9 adults, the hotel was really clean, the staff were extremely friendly and location wise it was excellent for getting up the slopes although a bit of a trek into town. There was a little supermarket round the corner to get breakfast and the ski hire place was excellent as we booked online in advance and everything was ready to collect on arrival.

Myself and three friends shared two rooms at Le Chinfrey and were blown away by how friendly Christiane, Smaranda and Thierry were and how well they looked after us. The rooms were cleaned every day, and for a 2 star hotel it completely exceeded our expectations. This is an absolute gem and perfectly located just across from the Les Perrieres lift. We dined in the restaurant on the last night and wished we had done so before, since the food was fabulous, especially the meat which we cooked ourselves on a hot stone at the table - amazing!!! We felt we had to put up a review on the basis that some of the others left on here are simply so far from our experience that it beggars belief that they stayed in the same place! Thank you Christiane, Smaranda and Thierry for a fantastic four days and for putting up with us returning at all hours of the night usually well inebriated!!!!
