During "off season", we were looking for a nice weekend escape in the Mont Blanc area.
This B&B with "table d'hotes" dinner option was a very pleasant surprise find. The rooms are very nice, well decorated, and cozy. The view is amazing (despite a few trees "just" blocking the Mont Blanc - but you can see all the rest of the mountain range).
Also, the owners ran a restaurant before, so food served is classical french fare. Maybe not the most creative, but home-made and well prepared. Also, with the aperitif, starter, main, cheese + desert - it really makes for a great dinner - with lots of stories from the owners.
Only draw back: the house is impossible to drive to unless you have four-wheel drive - however, the owners are happy to pick up any visitors from the parking 400m further away. And yes, the fact that you cannot even "get there" in an normal way adds to the feeling of a remote chalet in the alps.More
