We had a very good time staying at this hotel, the staff is very friendly.
We had a brunch on Sunday which was a delicious buffet with view of the sea.

Be advised though, that the hotel serves French food, according to French standards. It is a high quality restaurant according to French standards.

We booked the appartment, top flat with great view. Only let down: very small windows on the sea side, so there is no way to really enjoy the view. Only big enough window has view on the roofs, and no full length window...

This is a beautiful property well located on the beach and promenade. Has all you could expect from a five-star property plus the atmosphere of a grand hotel of the early 1900s. Looking inland is well located for access to the main shopping and restaurant strip.

I wish I could give this hotel 5 stars but a few hiccups mean its not possible.
We booked to stay one night on the way to the ferry, a little detour off the motorway and a last night of luxury before our holiday ended. We had warned the hotel that it could be after 11pm when we arrived. After 9 hours of driving we arrived at 10.20pm, tired and hungry. We had thought of stopping to eat on the motorway but decided a hotel of this standard would have good 24hour room service if nothing else. We checked in and straight away asked about eating and were told the bar served snacks until 11pm and room service was 24 hours, that the town eateries would all be closed. As Accor members we were given a voucher for a drink. We dropped our bags to our suite and were down in less than 10 minutes. Two other guests shared the lift with us and walked into the bar and sat with their party. We went to sit but were told the bar was closing and we could be served a drink in the lobby (it was only 10.35pm). The lobby is wonderful but the bar was much cosier, three tables were still occupied in the bar. We asked about eating and were told that no, the bar does not serve food after 10pm and that while room service is available only cold options after 10pm. We enjoyed our complimentary drink (wonderful champagne, a choice of two) and went for a short walk along the beach to unwind after our long drive. Back in our suite we looked at the menu, I had already planned on having an omelette and frites, but only cold options available and very highly priced towards the cooked food (club sandwich €24 compared to the omelette at €17 as far as I can recall). We had a soup, a chicken club sandwich, smoked salmon and a cheese platter. I was starving and reckoned the chicken club sandwich would be pretty impressive at that price. A reasonable 20 minutes later the food arrived, very well presented with butter and bread sticks. My sandwich sadly was a great let down, not toasted, very soggy and with cold processed chicken....I ate less than half. So I decided to go for the cheese and bread, the cheeses were very good but the 4 breadsticks sadly were rubbery. I ended up eating an apple and some chocolate I had in my bag. The food was very poor value, an exceptional club sandwich with warm toast and freshly roasted chicken breast, a side order of frites and some salad and a home made mayonnaise or salsa would be worthy of the price. If a motorway stop can make an omelette or steak to order then so too can a five star hotel.

The hotel itself is in an excellent location and our suite overlooking the gardens was wonderful. The bed was comfortable with crisp sheets and a choice of French or rectangular pillows and extra in the wardrobe. The bedroom was large, the sitting room even larger and very well appointed. The bathroom exquisite and larger than most hotel bedrooms. We had a walk in wardrobe and separate toilet. Two things impressed me about the bath and toilet facilities, firstly the separate toilet DID have a hand basin (impossible to find in a French toilet) and secondly the bathroom had locks. Lately I've been staying in hotels with non lockable bathrooms, including the McGallery in Carcassone. The hotel is in a wonderful location positioned on a quaint garden at the end of the main street and right on the beach. In the morning we made tea in the room and sat with the full length windows open people watching. The lobby was buzzing with staff polishing and cleaning, setting and clearing tables and checking people out. Both the public and guest areas were spotless and well appointed.
I loved the old world splendour of Cabourg and we walked on the beach, bought pastries and chocolate in the shops and had a lovely lunch in the seafront before we set off.
I would like to come back again, maybe stay for three or so days, a trip on the ferry for some shopping and some comfortable relaxing. Despite our food issues I liked the hotel and while not necessarily accommodating all our needs the hotel staff was polite and courteous at all times.

A great hotel on the seafront, perfect for a romantic getaway. Old style facade but very modern interior. Fantastic rooms, friendly staff, amazing breakfast. The sauna is worth a visit, but it's a shame there is no pool. The bar is a lovely place for pre-dinner drinks or simply a cup of tea. Room service is very attentive and the room has everything you might need.
