I really booked this hotel because of the movie "Three days in Quiberon" - about actress Romy Schneider spending some rehab time there (in the other hotel though, I guess) - but it was this little peninsula in the Bretagne that caught my eye and since I was in Rennes anyway, I could drive there in no time. The building has 70s charme - only two floors - and right after check in I had to switch rooms - because my reservation said "two beds" - the first room they checked us into was one bed. So we got a superior room with a little ocean view (which I didn't know was superior, I just thought it had two beds). Staff was very nice and helpful. The room had enough space - wasn't really spacious - but big enough, nice bathroom, 4 bottles of water every day (complimetary) and my niece had free breakfast (9 years old) - the breakfast was great! A good variety of juices, food and small dishes like fruits, chocolate creams, yoghurt, cold cuts, cheese of course and jam and honey and fresh made omeletts. Anything you asked for. We used the Spa-Pool once (salt water btw) - but since you have to wear a swimming cap, that was not too attractive... and kids are not allowed in the interesting whirlpools, so we went to one of the beaches that are really close... water was nice and fresh - and we had fun. Restaurant doesn't open until 7.15pm - travelling with kids that is a difficult time - my niece was hungry before that benchmark. So was I. So we went to downtown Quiberon - which is a 20min walk - or a 6min drive. The only downer was the air in the room - we couldn't leave the door open for fresh air - because of the mosquitos and maybe strangers coming in (room being on the ground floor) - so we closed it - and I did not feel any air condition working - or being there by any means. So nights were really warm. Other than that: Nice place, friendly staff and great landscape.

Room Tip: Superior rooms with ocean view are bigger

Dear Shadia,

Like many clients of the artistic world, it is interesting to note that the film realized around the mythical figure of Romy Schneider, who was one of our customer, gave you the desire to discover this extraordinary spot.

Even if you notice a room a little small, it seems that the service and the attention of our staff has satisfied you. There is no doubt that you will make future curious discover Quiberon, the Sofitel, its offer of care and its restaurant.

Thank you for recommending our address,

With my best regards,

Bart Van Cauwelaert, general director of SOFITEL QUIBERON

A two night stay which was overall pretty good! The rooms are a bit tight and like other reviewers if it’s hot there is no air con! Pool and spa is great. Bar service was very slow! Restaurant food very good quality but like bar prices not cheap. Lovely position on coast and 25 minute walk to town along coast. Breakfast excellent and staff friendly and helped with the English but a very French hotel as you would expect! Overall good but top end on the value front!

Dear host,

We thank you for your comment. We are delighted to note that the breakfast, the spa, the location of the resort has delighted you.

Nevertheless, we seriously note your recommendations regarding the ergonomics of the room, among others.

We look forward welcoming you again in our lovely peninsula,

With my kind regards,

Had a superior room with sea view which was small but did have a great view over to the beaches. Biggest complaint was the lack of air conditioning which is only available in the suites
apparently. To cool the room we had to leave the patio door open and this resulted in getting a lot of bites even with the net curtain pulled across. We did mention to the staff who supplied us with a plug-in mosquito repellant which did help. We accept that the weather is probably only this hot for a couple of months a year and that it is an old hotel and to install AC at this stage would be very costly.
Only other problem with the room was the seagulls on the roof who started their calls at dawn and were very noisy. We put earplugs in...
Breakfast was very good with eggs/ omelettes cooked to order and a good choice of side dishes plus fruit, cereals, breads and
juices.
Dinner was a bit disappointing with both our main dishes lacking in presentation and choice of vegetables. We have stayed in a few Sofitels but didn’t rate this one for their food.

Staff were generally helpful and the concierge was good when we had a flat battery as he arranged for a local garage to have a look at it.

We loved the location and easy access to Quiberon and neighbouring villages. For that reason we would re- visit but it is not the best Sofitel we have stayed in.

We had a truly wonderful and memorable experience for our three night stay. The location is perfect, at a quiet site right near the beach, which was perfect for the children and thankfully, not very crowded. The room we had for a family of four was beautiful and comfortable, and well prepared with amenities for the children. As expected with family rooms, it had no view (just the bushes outside), but isn’t it always like this? Also it would have been nice if the hotel offered beach towels and umbrellas to use at the beach but we were told by the reception just to use the towels in the room. Special commendation goes to the restaurant and its staff, who were extremely attentive, professional, efficient and friendly despite being busy. The food was excellent and the atmosphere enjoyable. Breakfast and the bar were also very good and the service attentive and friendly. Would definitely stay again when visiting Quiberon.

Dear Guests,

We are really glad to read that was “a truly wonderful and memorable experience”, mostly, since that was your first stay in our hotel.

Thanks to our “extremely attentive, professional, efficient and friendly” staff, you could enjoy all stages of your trip, felt relaxed and then appreciated our restaurant’s specialties. Knowing that the accommodation also did match your expectations, delight us.

However, because our parasols and beach towels are currently in limited quantities, there is no problem in using your bath towels on the beach.

We look forward to serving you again.

Sincerely.

General Director of the Sofitel Quiberon Thalassa sea & spa

First of all I'd like to say Thank you to Swam who accommodated our request throughout our stay, and to Manik our room attendant. The hotel was nice and spacious. Our room was kept clean and neat throughout our stay. Plus the awesome staff who made our stay very relaxing. Would like to go back again for another staycation.
