Lobster and other seafood.

Interesting desserts (with fennel for instance ...)

Non-standard Boss and Waitress.

Lorient is a city with plenty of restaurants and where inhabitants love good food. The special place is "Le Poulpe".
A popular and informal "bistrot" on the fishing port Main Street. It's open only for lunch and closed on week-ends. The chef is a former deputy chef of L'Arpège, the three-stars restaurant of Alain Passard, perhaps the best restaurant in France. Beautiful sea products cooked with a lot of style. And the price : fixed three courses menu for 14 euros, 2,60 for a glass of wine... A reservation is mandatory.

One more thing : every Friday night, le Poulpe is open for a special 39€ scallop and lobster menu. I haven't test yet, I betcha it's worth the trip!

This is the place to go at lunchtime (good idea to book a table).
The menu changes every day and is always based around what is available at the market. So it means everything is fresh and cooked that day!
You have the basic menu, starter, main course and desert for 13.80€, great value!
There is always a choice of 4-5 starters, at least 4 main courses (including a fish dish) and normally 5-6 desserts.
Wine can be a carafe or bottle, without breaking the bank.
Don't miss it if you are in Lorient at lunchtime.
