“Great place to visit, especially now with the Christmas market!”
Review of Mulhouse Old Town

Nothing to compare with the Christmas market from Strasbourg but it is a friendly one with only French craftmen and materials. The old town of Mulhouse is around "Place de la Réunion" with a couple of pedestrian streets. A very nice place to visit when you are visiting the automotive or railway museum! A special mention for the Alsatian restaurant "Chez Henriette", fantastic place to be and to enjoy some local food!

I arrived Colmar railway station at night, about 20.00hrs It was dark. Very dark! There were no taxis at the station but I had a map! I discovered it was very easy to get lost in the tangle of little streets in the old town but there was help from some of the locals and I found my hotel.

Next morning in daylight I could see why I got lost. The Old Town is a maze of beautiful narrow twisting streets and lanes. The buildings have been beautifully restored and it really is picture perfect.

There is an abundance of excellent cafes, bars and restaurants and as the weather was great people were enjoying sitting outside.

Colmar is well worth a visit. Very enjoyable, little town.

A trip around Mulhouse old town is a breath of fresh air, lots of old architecture, clean streets and happy people. Lots of of places to eat and drink or just sit and watch the world go by. A visit to the square to see the church is a must and take a look at the paintings on the buildings while you are there

If you are looking for a city of the olden times, Mulhouse can disappoint you a bit. The centre of this city is clean, lively, full of shops, wide and straight streets, and nice buildings, but it seems to be a bit too new. But there is a beautiful exception: the Place de la Réunion is really nice and old. Presided by Saint Etienne church, it also boasts the beautiful Town Hall and quite a few nice bright coloured houses. The surroundings of La Réunion also have a typical old touch. The rest of the city centre, as far as I saw, is very neat and nice but not specially old.
