We stayed at La Caravelle for about a week and we absolutely loved it. It was our first time in Corsica and we enjoyed the easy access to the beach and to the mountains. Because we were travelling with our 2 large dogs, we took a junior suite, which was quite luxurious.
The room was immaculate and the hotel is in a superb location. The beach is a few metres away, there is a supermarket a few minutes away, the railway boardwalk starts beside the hotel and is probably the best running route to start out from. The harbour restaurants are a short stroll away and (after a couple of glasses of wine) a mere step or two back.
La Caravelle also has a beach restaurant, where it’s possible to reserve sun loungers beside the water’s edge and admire the medieval citadel. It really is the most beautiful place. Les moules frites were just as good as you would think. Just be aware that the beach bar only takes cash and no cards.
The hotel owners and staff were always friendly and helpful.
I was a little concerned that the railway line ran right beside the hotel but this turned out to be baseless as there are so few trains and none at night (that I’m aware of).
The hotel grounds are the most immaculately kept grounds ever. The attention to detail is superb.More
