we have booked this hotel for the valentine weekend FEb 16-17 2013. we arrived around 5 pm on Saturday the reception was friendly and then we start discovering the problems. unlike what we were told and they have advertised on the website "there is no SPA" sorry, then there is no restaurant on site sorry we have to deliver for you, then they charged you $20 for a box of wood but when you start the fire in the chimney all the smoke will back up into the room so it is not worth it. the room does not have the bare basics!!! no soap or shower gel, no bottled water nothing in the minibar... keep in mind that this is valentine weekend no flowers chocolate or a bottle of wine in the room. then we walked to the bathroom the shower was so small i couldn't walk into the door to take a shower, plus the shower head was sooo clogged it takes for ever to take a shower. we have to drive back to downtown jezzine to buy the basic shampoo and shower gel some water and snacks. the mattress on the bed is really uncomfortable, i can still feel the springs in my back... the TV has a small 17" screen badly placed in the living area. we were told that the breakfast is included and will be delivered to your room upon demand! when we called the next morning we were informed that they wont deliver to the room it will be a "buffet". so we had to get up and get dressed and go to the buffet in the rain and cold... all what they had is labne, some white cheese and jam ans some bread and boiled eggs... the only positive thing is that the heat was working properly! for the money that they charge it is absolutely not worth it and we informed them that when we checked out. we cut our stay to only one night.

Room Tip: find a better place to stay not worth the money you pay.

Now that was a very nice surprise. we started by having lunch at the restaurant "sakhrit al shallal" that is the hotel annex just facing the Jezzine water fall. Then we spent the rest of the day and a night at the hotel. I would say, unfortunetly only one night. Honestly, this little 15 lodge resort nested on top of a rocky hill is a perfect hideout place for a nice far far away break. There is actually nothing to do, but in fact, that is exactely what is nice about it. we went for few hikes. the ladscape is breathtaking, the air is fresh and pure. Nothing much about Jezzine itself, but for those who like walking, there are really some nice hikes. the kids enjoyed and so we did. Next time we will stay 2 to 3 nights. The lodges are simple. If you are looking for luxery and spoiling resorts...that is not for you. It is more of a french "gite" type of stay. Friendly, simple, very simple and home made. Nothing particular about the food either, excpet at the waterfall restaurant. Every curious traveller should try this place. There is something about it.

Do you know how this place took its name?
"Nejme" and "Diab", in french "Etoile" and "loup" are the owners of this small heaven.
L'etoile du loup is located on the top of Jezzine, south of Lebanon, surrounded by dense pine trees and overlooking the Jezzine village and the biggest pine forest of Lebanon is Bkassine.

The soothing serenity of the resort constituted of 15 individual chalets, guarantees the experience of nature at its best. With your children you can enjoy a day at the swimming pool, a jacuzzi relaxing moment, a coffee on the terrace or a close encounter with the horses.

Don't put your expectations high, do not wait for a five star service. Its a local and authentic business organized in a home-style way for people who want to relax in a spot say from pollution and noise.
Expect to live like a villager in your own land and enjoy the fresh air of the mountains.

first of all im not sure if this resort can be named as a hotel... Its a dozen of small chalets built on a very small land area up in the hills of jezzine. I did not notice any hotel service or staff...no towels, no shampoo no glasses in the room, not even toilet paper!! There is a little chimney in the room but in order to turn it on you will be charged an extra 20 $.. one of the chalet is named as SPA but it was locked.. the staff is composed of two guys that rarely answer to phone calls... Dont even try their breakfast...
