Great view over the lake. Very welcoming staff and service to offer you service and tips or ideas to visit the region. The hotel is facing the bus stop to go to Desenzano, Sirmione or even Verona. Room is nice, breakfast is good. Swimming pool. Parking.
On the minus side: the restaurant for dinner (very disappointing pasta) / The need to walk 4 km if you do not want to take the bus running once an hour or use the car (limited parking space in the region)

Room Tip: Lake view a must

My wife, daughter and I stayed here t the end of July 17 for one week. This hotel has SO much going for it. Rooms are spotlessly clean (make sure you book a lake-facing room) and they are imaginatively/tastefully decorated. We ate in the restaurant three times and the food was easily the best we had on the whole trip. The green-nettle gnocchi was my favourite dish - superb. The staff were all very polite and efficient, especially the receptionists. The views of the lake are spectacular. The hotel is easy to find and convenient for touring the southern ends of the lake. Boats can be hired just 100m away from the hotel and its well worth the effort doing so. Weekends can be noisy because of a nearby bar but fortunately for us, thunderstorms put an end to their antics! The pool is clean - not too many hotels in the area have them - and provides a welcome relief from the heat.

Nothing seems too much trouble for the staff and here's a great example. We checked in just half an hour before our dinner reservation, so dumped the bags in our room and ate a great meal. When we went back upstairs and opened our cases, we found that one of our cats must have pee'd in one of them and the stanch was incredible. Despite having no laundry facility for guests, the hotel took my wife's clothes and laundered them for free. Now THATS good service!

We will endeavour to return to this hotel, maybe at a cooler and less busy time of the year, but return we definitely will. Thank you Hotel Aquila D'Oro!!!

Room Tip: Get a lake facing room

We booked almost literally last minute (on the day - New Year's Eve) after other plans fell through. Late check-in, then a travel delay made us late for our dinner reservations. When we called it was all fine. There were some screaming kids at an otherwise peaceful restaurant, but when we asked if we could move to a quieter section, they prepared the table for us and even had our next course ready when we came back from a drink at the bar.
The room itself was very comfortable, albeit a little dated as far as decor is concerned. The heating was a little over-zealous, but relatively easy to regulate, and much better than being too cold so close to the lake in winter.
We were late to breakfast both days, arriving just 15min before closing, but they still welcomed us and we felt very comfortable while they discretely tidied up the buffet.
Best service for less tan ideal guests such as ourselves at that time.
The location is superb, the views amazing and while we got a great deal as we were the last guests of the season, we didn't feel rushed or anything. In fact, I am writing this as they clear out up other sections of the restaurant and lobby before the season break. They even gave us complimentary coffee while we wait to leave for our next destination.
Next time we hope to be a little less stressed and really just take the time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. As it was, the staff here really made us feel relaxed despite ourselves! We heartily recommend Aquila d'Oro!

Room Tip: Get a balcony. We will next time too!

Hotel with nice view of lake. Breakfast on terase with this view and good range of food, very romantic. Rooms not small modern equiped. Rooms with view to street (oposite of lake) no balcony and cheapest. Close to Sirmione. For my nice stay.

Room Tip: Two types of room, vith and without lake view.

Rooms need some updating. Lake side rooms have a spectacular view. Food delicious and breakfast has many options. Loved the hotel. Walking along the lake took some work to find the right path and is a bit spotty.
