What a great find. We wanted something to go and in this tiny shop/deli we found crispy paninis. My husband wanted one he saw in the case, and I asked for one without meat. The person behind the counter didn't speak much English, but we communicated just fine with what Italian I had and lots of finger pointing and nodding.

The shop has two benches outside, or you can walk up the road to a park with benches. Besides panini, there is wine by the glass, or in small or regular bottles. Plus there are bottled goods like jams and sauces, plus cheeses and cured meats.

Delicious hot panini and bruschetta. We had a Panini of thin sliced wild boar, sheep cheese and truffle cream, toasted. It was magnificent. A toasted bruschetta of eggplant, artichoke, sun-dried tomato, and pesto was divine. Highly recommend.

We found this place without looking for it and it was a great surprise. We ordered two bruschettes recommended by the staff and both were super tasty. The service was super friendly. All in all, an excellent option for having good food for a reasonable price. Expect to pay around 9 E/person.

This was our second time back to Volterra and to Sapori di Toscana. Great little family owned place. Was great to see "D" and her Mama again. Paninis, bruschetta, etc. Its not a restaurant, but just a great place to stop for a snack and wine.

When we passed by, I remembered having seen this place on Tripadvisor. Indeed, sandwiches are made freshly for you with local ingredients, like wild boar salami, truffle cheese or grilled vegetables. The lady serving us was very nice as well. Not the cheapest place (paid 5.50 and 7 euros for our sandwiches), but certainly worth it: you get the best of Tuscany's kitchen!
