The hotel is very handy for shops, bars, restaurants and beach. Not brilliant for kids, beach quite expensive, 30 euros per day. Hotel comfortable and well equipped, friendly staff and cleaned room daily. Roof terrace was a bonus. Only downside, as with restaurants, dogs allowed.

Clean comfortable great location to Beach helpful staff, breakfast typical continental not a lot of choice. Rooms a bit small for families but managed. Only downside was when a pop up disco happened at a bar opposite very loud music until after midnight

The hotel was ok, nothing special but clean and all the staff were nice and friendly. Hotel is located in the centre of Viareggio, walking distance from the train station and right across from the beach and the sea. The beach was full of chairs that were ridiculously overpriced. Breakfast was included to the price and it was ok as well, fresh fruit and yogurt, bread, croissants etc.

In conclusion, I'd recommend this hotel if you want reasonable price hotel and don't need excessive luxury.

Eden is on the seafront right across the road from the beach and the myriad of beach clubs, designer shops, cafe's bars and restaurants. Couldn't be better. The staff are freindly and helpful and the hotel has a great roof terrace with wonderful views and showers to cool off. Yes, the hotel is dated, very 1960's decor so if you are after a boutique style this will not be for you but it is very clean and has a lift to all floors. We did not use the breakfast option preferring the cafe across the road which was excellent and very reasonable. The station which can take you to Pisa, Lucia and Firenze is 10 mins walk. The hotel also gives you a permit to park outside (if you can find a space) and discount vouchers for the nearest beach club. All at a reasonable room rate.

We read many negative reviews on Viareggio none of which were borne out by our experience. Yes, the beach is busy and fully concessioned, however with a voucher from the hotel two loungers and an umbrella were 10 Euro, reasonable in my view. The water was clean. Restaurants and cafes were reasonably priced and food was good. This is a very busy, typically Italian resort with more beach umbrellas than I have ever seen, as long as you accept that and go with the flow that's fine.
This is also a great location to combine culture and beach on a short break, Lucca and Pisa are a short drive away, we did them in the mornings and enjoyed the beach in the afternoons. Perfect.

Room Tip: Ask for front full sea view, the side views rooms look at the side of a budget clothes store.
