Great charming hotel overlooking lake, spent 2 nights , very quiet and peaceful. Room was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and a delightful experience with the restaurant views across the lake. The bar service was excellent and very friendly. Only a short stroll down to the main town. This area is so beautiful

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Majestic on a trip with friends. My room faced the front, but it was in a corner so I still had a lovely mountain and partial lake view. The room was clean and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and the location is perfect because it's walking distance to the town, but just on the edge so you have peace and quiet.

The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because of a very strange policy they have of discouraging guests to drink their own wine. One friend had a spectacular lake view room with a huge terrace, and our tradition on holiday is to go into town, find wine, cheese, bread and have a little happy hour before heading out. They were charged some kind of fees for disposing the wine bottles. Very strange and unexpected. Otherwise, it's a lovely wonderful place.

A very lovely historic property. Our rooms were considered Jr suites. We were on the 5th floor with a very large deck overlooking the lake. The only concern for us was the bedroom was on the second floor. We have some mobility issues so traveling up stairs to go to bed was an issue. The restaurant at the hotel was Michelin quality, Great meal, even better service.

Room tip: Ask about stairs if you have any accessibility issues

As we were fairly late in booking accommodation the selection of rooms was limited for the 4 days of our stay. The room, as expected, was on the small side. There was little room for clothes, etc. and the number of hangers inadequate. We did find it odd that the aircon could not be adjusted manually in the room so you had to ring down to reception for this to be switched on/off or changed. The positives for the hotel were the beautiful grounds with plenty of options of seating/sunloungers etc. The pool and gym were both of a reasonable size and in proportion to the hotel. We were lucky enough to witness two wedding parties during our stay where the bride/grooms arrived by boat across the water for their respective parties. This did mean that the hotel was much busier but obviously a very happy atmosphere. Breakfasts were buffet style and the choices more than adequate, although you could order additional hot food separately. The breakfast room was lovely, spacious and airy and the staff courteous and efficient. The long areas were comfortably, with beautiful high ceilings with a view over the terrace and lake to be enjoyed. Overall the staff were helpful and friendly and we would stay here again, especially with the easy walking distance into town with access to shopping, bars and restaurants. Would opt for a higher spec room rather than the basic one we stayed in this time.

If you want a private place, on the lake with no road in front of you, no tourist buses and all these annoying people, then this is choice number one.

The Grimaldi choose this hotel in 2015 for the Casiraghi prince wedding for the same reasons.

It is very calm, puts you in a « belle epoque » atmosphere that most hotels have lost now.
You enter the lobby and feel like if you just jump out of the orient express and have a meeting with agatha christie here.
It is really charming, although our room 414 was one of the smalest of the hotel it had everything you need.
the location is the best on this lake, with a gorgious view on the borreome islands from your room.

We also want to thank filippo, as under his management, the service was perfect both at the Beola restaurant team and the breakfast.
The hotel team was as expect in this kind of hotel very helpful, and special thanks to Sara at the front desk for her advices.

We could definitevely stay again .
