We stayed here for three nights years ago, having been washed out of our campsite by a freak storm. The rooms were fine, clean, spacious comfortable. But the real thing with this hotel is the restaurant. Un-be-leivable but in a quiet understated way. I swear to god that the risotto i had for a starter which was i think based on raddichio, with an amazing salty cheese on was sublime. The antipasti meat board was equally amazing and the kids fell silent for some time as they chomped through the pasta with meat rage. It was worth the storm, ten years later i remember it fondly. Complimenti

We loved this lively restaurant. It's a bit quirky and full of local pride. Every bit of the walls (and ceiling!) is covered with sports mementos, jerseys, newspaper articles, etc. The service is very attentive and efficient. We had a delicious meal and loved the complimentary digestivo afterwards. Warmly recommended.

The hotel was also excellent. The location can't be beat -- easy to find and right at the edge of the pretty pedestrian zone. We enjoyed a spacious, spotlessly clean room. First we thought there was no hot water in the shower, but then we discovered that the lever is attached wrong way round -- hardly a hardship once you figure it out. Our room faced the street, which we didn't find to be loud or bothersome at all. In fact, we had one of the best nights of sleep on our trip. The mattresses and bedclothes were very pleasant. Our only gripe: we had to go out into the hallway to get WiFi access. Breakfast was very good. Overall: our favorite place in Varese and we'll surely be back.

Cosy hotel with excellent people! We had a charming room, and felt very at home immediately. Excellent location in the middle of the old city. Bar and restaurant. The staff was friendly and helped us with whatever we needed. Dinner in evening was good, and the olace was crowded with locals, good mood. Waiters worked hard and we will definitely stay here if we come to Varese again.

Wife and I ate here while on a free time stroll with a Trafalgar tour. Outdoor seating was pleasant, nice evening, and the waiter was polite, prompt, and attentive (by European standards). We had simple pasta dishes with a glass of wine and a small mineral water for 37 euro. My pasta Bolognese was just fine as was my wife's spaghetti pomodoro. We did notice that the inside wait staff got overwhelmed trying to serve a group that had a somewhat tight time budget. But, if we are in Varese again, yes, we would go back here and sit outside.
