Just back from spending New Year week booked via Crystal. We had two twin rooms, both basic but immaculately clean, warm (even at -15!) and spacious compared to France. Ski room well situated and boot heaters that actually work. As others have mentioned, the food is truly fantastic and a real highlight of the hotel. Children are fed the same menu as adults and there is enough choice for the fussiest of eaters. Breakfast is a buffet and lots of choice, typical continental style. It's served at 7:45 and gives time to get onto the snow by lift opening at 8:30 and miss the rush hour. The location is good for this area, about 5 mins walk from an easy run, although it isn't obvious. We found it better to head down the hill in the morning to access the snow (by the motorhome parking) as the uphill route is gravelly, harder work and liable to wreck your boot plates. We then left this same piste in the afternoons via the higher access point (look out for the flags and bridge on the side of the piste). From either point there is a three man access chair then a two man slow chair directly linking you to the Sella Ronda in both directions. In the afternoons if you are on the wrong side of the valley it means crossing Selva then taking Ciampinoi Gondola to access this from the red run, or the poma from Plan de Gralba would do it for less confident skiers.
Don't rely on the buses too much, it was a truly shocking service when the valley closed when we waited an hour to get up to the next resort, plus there are no return stops by the main gondola. Also the main gondola is rammed at peak times, another reason to use the chair which most of the town hotels don't directly access to so you'll pretty much have it to yourselves. Only minuses are that if you are on a budget both of the supermarkets are the wrong side of town so it's a heck of a walk for milk, rolls, cheese etc for packed lunches. The hotel is on a steepish main road so if you are a light sleeper you need a room at the rear or earplugs, the traffic isn't heavy but there is unavoidably the occasional car noise through the night. However the other benefits vastly outweigh this. Be sure to look at the photos and ask the owner about his life if you are interested in men's downhill racing. He has met many of the greats as the hotel hosts the U.S. and Canadian ski teams every year. Overall this is an absolute gem and a welcome break from self catering, but still within a reasonable budget. The owner and his team are first class and all in all, our best family ski holiday in a very long time.

Room Tip: Front rooms have balconies and the best rooms but there is road noise, lighter at night. Showers are brilliant, didn't miss bath in room.

We spent Christmas in this lovely family run hotel. We received a warm welcome every day. All of the family gave us great advice on where to ski and how to get to the lifts. Congratulations to the chef for such fantastic food.

Just back from one of the best ski holidays ever! We were very lucky with he weather and snow, the Dolomites are beautiful and the resort is the prettiest I have ever skied, stunning!!! The Alpino Plan is a lovely small hotel just outside of Selva and is at a great location for some of the best skiing in the region being on the Sellaronda route. You can almost ski back to the hotel, or its a short walk down the road from the slope, 5mins max. Their is a free bus service with a stop just outside the hotel to get to Plan de Gralba and the gondola/chair.
The hotel is perfect for couples and groups, did not see any kids on our stay. The rooms are a good size and very comfortable and w had a hot power shower to take the ache out of the muscles apre ski. The food was excellent, plenty of it and very good quality for the price. This hotel caters for the US/Canadian ski team and is really well set up to help you have the best ski hols, the Demetz family that own and run are very hands on and always really friendly, welcoming and helpful. Prices for drink and food in this area are very good value compared to France where we mostly have skied previously, and we liked it so much we are highly likely to book again for next year which we have not done before in the 15 ski trips previously! Highly recommended!

Room Tip: our room was at the back of the hotel which was very quiet except for early one morning when the bin lorry arrived.

+ Can ski to doorstep on the red from Grelba. Hotel clean, with bar, lovely food (plenty of it). Main course - too big - put on 2 kg in a week (note this is under +)

- Possibly consider a hot option at breakfast and less in the evening. More smiles from the owners would be good! Take a day every week - that works for me.

Had a great stay during half term Feb 2016. The hotel is clean and the rooms got attended to on a daily basis. Clean sheets and fresh towels. Shower was great with plenty of hot water after a day on the slopes. Quiet at night so could get a decent sleep. Food was good. Breakfast was your classic cereals, bread cheeses etc. The 4 course dinner every night was nice. Can choose from the options at breakfast. The 2 waitresses work v hard and are very attentive. The location wasn't really a problem. We walked 10 mins to the ski hire place each morning using this ad a "good warm up" and after a couple of beers at the end of skiing grabbed the ski bus back. We never had to wait more than 2 minutes. A nice hotel in a brilliant ski resort.
