Our tour guide took us here to eat lunch after touring Pompeii. It't a truly authentic Italian grocery and restuarant. Noelo and his wife are owners. She does the cooking, and he does the purveying and the meeting and greeting he bought us endless and delicious food. The tomatoe salad was amazing, the bread was great, all the different types of mozzorella were very good. The burrata came with great grill artichokes, and the cows milk mozzarella, which Noelo pull at are table was delicious. And the bill was very reasonable. If you like good food and nice people this is the place

This eatery is close to our AirBnB so four of us went for dinner because TA ranking is #4. This is not a traditional restaurant per se but is a delicatessen in North American sense. Sitting capacity is about 15 people max. Place was quiet busy with local residents buying cheese, bread, cold cuts and cooked food. Without request, we were served a fresh olive and cheese plate. Owner came to our table to introduce himself and explain he can prepare different pasta to accommodate us, although there is no such menu. We ordered one assorted cold cut plate and a clams linguini for four. The cold cuts are fresh and tender. And the linguini portion is massive adequate for our. Although we could not see any seafood in the store, the clams are very fresh and tasty. Ambiance is casual and relaxing. Owner also served us an Italian version of blue cheese - very flavorful. The server has a good sense of humor and changed our plate frequently. Bravo!

This was our favourite meal. It is very colourful eating in the deli, with a very kind host. The food was superb: lovely starters, a huge antipasto plate with such beautiful attention to detail; home cooked food with decent wine. What an enjoyable dinner. And a good price.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a little while... why? Because my wife and I first visited Nello’s on our first holiday together back in 2014 and loved the area so much we went back (and to Nello’s) again in 2016. Apologies for the delay in review Nello!

If you are in the Sorrento area and don’t visit this place you really are missing out. From Nello and Rita’s warm welcome, to the large glass of peach wine that shortly follows, you immediately feel at home as you await what is to come...

The homely setting is great but the food more than matches it. Having been three times in total we loved just getting what was in that day, whether that fish, pasta or anti-pasta. Everything is fresh and delicious.

We have recommended Nello’s to friends who have been with and without us and all agree this place is not to be missed.

One word of advice - book!

A local recommended Masaniellos as excellent but when we arrived it just looked like a good quality delicatessen. Nevertheless, based on the recommendation we went in. What we found was a typical old Italian deli but with odd tables in corners here and there. This was absolutely not a tourist place but where the locals eat - and they know a thing or two!!! What you won't get is quick service - make sure you've got all evening free. What we did get was a warm welcome and brilliant food. We've eaten in some great restaurants around the world but we've never had Antipasti as good as this and it took a full half an hour just to be prepared! Was it worth waiting for? We all raved about it and, even better, the other courses lived up to it. Don't expect fancy tourist service or prices, Al Mahara in the Burj Al Arab this is not, but if you want a very surprising delightful taste sensation then missing Masaniellos would be a big mistake.
