Stayed on a Contiki. The best part of this hotel is the accomodating staff - stayed for two nights and the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and attentive. Breakfast was nice every morning - typical European breakfast.

The rooms are basic but very clean and everything works. The views from the balcony out over the water are an amazing way to wakeup.

Great value hotel, room and hotel clean and tidy, staff are lovely people friendly and helpful, breakfast is ok did us fine, only fault really was or sink was cracked but wasn’t a problem, roof terrace has a fantastic view, watch the sunset one nite, free bus to town If needed. Why all hotels don’t have a free safe like here, it’s a nice touch, towels changed every day, bed linen changed during the week, great stay thanks.

We stayed at Le Pergola at the beginning of October.
Weather was nice and the staff ware friendly and speak English, however unable to help when asked. Neither the manager allocated us a room on the upper flours, we asked a month in advance, nor was the receptionist able to find an English language TV channel.
Relatively clean, but avoid room 14 at all cost. It is claustrophobically small. To make the matter worst the bathroom is also too small and moldy. Probably in conflict with all international standards for three star hotels. (Will try to attach a pick.)
Centre of Sorrento is 30 minutes away on foot. The buss shuttle runs infrequently and only at odd hours.
The tables of “the restaurant” in the souterraine are adorned with plastic flowers in pots. Breakfast is very simple – the cheapest cooked ham and cheeses. Eggs are boiled too hard. Dinner is probably prepared by a hospital, or school catering firm and tastes accordingly, nothing to do with the fantastic Italian cuisine. No fruits!?
And finally a positive thing – the view from the roof terrace to the sea, Vesuvio and the hills is fantastic!

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor.

You need to know before you go that all the buildings are 1960's. Everything old but works and it is so clean. Last minute decision to go and when I read the reviews I was worried. Hotel just like others all over Italy. Family run. Three star would only be a two in Ireland. The room was cleaned every day. The decor is a bit tired looking but we only needed the bed wanted to do tours every day. You could spend another €3-400 per person and spend no time there so you need to decide for yourself what you want. No problem getting milk and water at reception to make tea at night as we brought a little travel kettle. We brought a fan too but only used it two nights. They have air conditioning but I think you have to pay for it. A couple in hotel beside us paid €4 per night for theirs but it was too noisy. Balcony very small but the view from the bed was lovely (photo attached) don't look down as a small bus depot beside hotel. Bus a great asset to the town only 15mins walk whichever way you go. When you come out of hotel and see muriel on wall turn left or right. The main town is 14 mins in direction you are looking at when you see muriel. The streets are very uneven and are broken in many places, so mind you step. Not to Irish standard at all but that is part of the beauty of this area. You have to walk in single file often too. The breakfast is just cereals (4) and continual meats and cheese and sweet pastries etc. You sit at the table with your room number which apparently is a continental thing. They have some alcahol there you can buy at reception and sit at the tables inside or out. Staff were terrific and six towels in bathroom and any you use were changed every day. Other hotel beside us only had tiny towels with no soakage. A lot of the hotels are this distance from main town. Five minutes walk away is a beautiful area to watch the sun set over the bay. (Take a right to main road and right again to where the road bears to the right and here you take the left and keep walking until to reach the sea definite great for photos. There were a few noises too but nothing more than you would get in any hotel. You can see the train going to Pompeii too go by which is lovely to see in the distant mountains. Just enjoy this place it may be old but old is nice. Only suggestion is that they open window a bit in resteraunt as it can smell a little musty.
