We stayed only one night at this Agriturismo, but it was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Italy. it is set on a hilltop with views of the countryside in all directions. The rooms are cozy and comfortable, and there is a modern swimming pool with a sunning area. Close by is a winery that offers tastings and tours, and the surroundings provide a good place for a long relaxing hike. Perhaps the best part was the friendliness of the owners and the meal they served that night, prepared by the mother of the owner, using the produce and livestock raised on the farm. Very reasonably priced wines are also available with the meal. Breakfast the next morning was a delicious typical Italian breakfast. A great place for a short or extended stay.

We only stayed for one night, but it was long enough to allow us to completely unwind and enjoy the incredible hospitality.
We arrived a little late in the day and whilst they said the kitchen was closed they promptly rustled up an incredible spread of meats, cheeses, fruits and bread as well as a bottle of wine.....definitely a good start.
The room was very quaint, and definitely felt oldy-worldy, plus everything was immaculate.
The swimming pool was beautiful, and of course the surrounding area is brethtaking.
It's a little way out in the middle of nowhere, and whilst we managed with taxis, it's definitely advisable to hire a car instead if you are staying for any period of time.
Incredible hospitality and we'll definitely be back for more.

We just spent 4 days at Antica Torre. A family run agriturismo serving local dishes. Beautiful, lush setting on the outskirts of Salsomaggiore, a provincial town known for it's many wellness centres and thermal springs. The town is charming and worth a visit. The remaining countryside has many castles and in the fall is quiet and hosts few tourists.
The Pavesi family, Manuele, Elena and her mom Vanda were very welcoming and proud of their property. Working during the day and catering to us at dinner time.
Breakfast and dinner were all prepared in-house offering local products and wonderful wines.
Our rooms were spacious, comfortable but dated and could be upgraded, especially the beds.
From here we visited some of the local castles and Parma.
Thank you for a wonderful stay famiglia Pavesi.

Spent 2 nights here on honeymoon back in June. It is set pretty much in the middle of nowhere, which was very much the aim. The venue has a real barn type feel to it, with varying rooms in different buildings. Our room was very spacious, with a living room tied next to it.

Right away we were made to feel very welcome by the owners, a family who all live on site and are all very approachable. They are clearly very proud of what they have built and are right on top of anything that arises. During our stay there was severe winds, which led to a couple of leaks in the room and a powercut. However they worked very hard to get the venue through it, and ensure no disruption. Should also point out the younger members of the family are fluent in English so no issues with language.

The food is served in a seperate room, cooked by the mama, and is fantastic. I have a big appetite, but on both nights I practically rolled back to the room. They certainly wont let you go hungry! The food is very homely (Lamb Stew, Mushroom Tagliatelle, Parma Ham etc) You can also buy the local wine to have with dinner for a small price.

Other facilities include a swimming pool (Which we never got the chance to use), Table Tennis, and ability to borrow mountain bikes to explore the area. Wi-Fi is available in the main block but did not reach our room.

The only downside is that whilst I was there I had the misfortune of watching Italy beat England 2-1 in the World cup with a couple of the other residents. But hardly unusual if your an England fan...

This place is a real discovery. High up in the hills outside of Salsomaggiore Terme, not far from Parma, the family are extremely welcoming and the agriturismo is set in a number of well restored buidlings. Antica Torre is located in the region of Italy which lays claim to having the best cuisine in Italy and we did have some of our best meals in Italy here - out of the ordinary cooking and completely delicious. Our room was comfortable, spacious with a lovely view over the countryside. The pool was lovely, and we seemed to be the only ones who were swimming before breakfast. The family still work the land as well as being the most hospitable of hosts. There are chairs and loungers set in places to savour the views, so that between staying here for the day or going to see the local castles or to visit Parma and Modena means you are spoiled for choice.

Room Tip: You can choose a room in the Antica Torre itself, or one of the more spacious ones with the wonderful views over the countryside in the larger house. Either would make for an exceptional stay.
