We stayed in a self-catering three-bedroom apartment for five nights. As a family with young children this was perfect. The apartment was very nicely decorated and had plenty of space for everyone. The apartments are set discreetly into the hillside so you do not feel as though you are staying in a holiday complex. The estate has been beautifully and sensitively restored. Our apartment had crisp, white cotton bedlinen and plenty of towels. Another plus point: I normally cannot stand the drone of airconditioning units at night but the whole apartment had the most silent aircon units I have ever encountered. They weren't needed in the day but were very good to have at night and I could barely hear them.
The only minor negatives: wifi a bit patchy at times. Not so important to us, as long as we could send the occasional email. The television in our apartment had poor reception. This did not matter to us either because we were out and about most of the time.
The two swimming pools were a big hit with our children and in the afternoon there was a pool bar service so you could have an iced coffee by the pool. Bliss!
We really appreciated the staff at Cavalonga. They are all are warm, professional and courteous.
The guide booklet in our apartment was very useful and was clearly written with a lot of thought. A few mornings we opted for breakfast at the hotel and it was excellent; freshly-baked brioches, delicious Italian pastries, plus traditional breakfast buffets items of ham, cheeses, cereals, etc. We also dined in the restaurant a couple of times. Excellent food and wine.
We would definitely go back here and it is highly recommended for those wishing for a beautiful, calm place to have a family holiday.More
