This complex of villas and rooms is set in tranquil and lovely country, accessible to the baroque towns, the sea, and depending on how far you want to drive in a day, villa Romana del Casale. The pool is a relaxing haven. The terraces are large and comfortable. The staff is responsive to any issues. The reception areas is very welcoming and provides a beautiful setting for an appetitive. The only possible improvements one could make would be to the outdoor furniture. The wooden framed chairs show signs of age and the umbrellas were small and flimsy for such large terraces. More units use the pool than appeared to be the case from the booking site we used. However, it was never an issue for us, possibly because the apartments were not fully booked. And there is another, smaller pool for those seeking more peace.

I would recommend this place for families and small groups who wish to combine modest sight seeing with relaxation.

Dear guest,
Thank for the positives things that you have said about our Hotel and about the people that work here.
Cavalonga is the perfect place for the people who like to relax during their vacation but also for people who loves to visit southeast Sicily.
Thank you for the advice the you have given us about the umbrellas but we have already changed them with new and bigger ones.
We hope that you will come back here again and enjoy them with the rest of the new changes that we have made for a better hospitality.

Kind regards
Relais parco cavalonga.

We spent seven days here early June 2016 and thought it was amazing. We loved swimming in the two pools, the quiet park, the amazing breakfasts and lovely dinners, which we had every night.

We will be coming back next year we hope - it will be one of our 'forever' places. The staff are exceptional.

A lovely hotel with lovely services.

2 pools in a little 'mini valley' near Donnafugata. A perfect 'get away from it place.

The hotel has good breakfasts and dinners (but note, not every evening) and the dinners are very much worth trying.

The standard of the rooms is high.

We stayed in an apartment, which is on the edge of the property and gives you a bit more privacy with full kitchen amenities.

What is great:
Lots of space, en suite and multiple bathrooms, perfect for familes
The staff are friendly, approachable, but will happily leave you alone

What could be better
Minor gripes
- like no basics (oil/coffee/sugar/salt) in the kitchen. (I left all of the above for the next guest and I hope that they benefit)
- the wifi works but don't rely on it (it didn't work within the apartment)
- the rooms closest to the gate get the road noise, you will experience much more peace closer to the main hotel
- just unplug the TV, there are only 6 channels, and all are rubbish.

You can't do anything about this one - the rooms closest to the gate get a lot of swallow/sparrows! Expect a dawn chorus!

Room tip: I'ld skip their lunch offerings. You need a car here - 9k to the nearest supermarket/shop A great base if you want to visit SE Sicily.

Dear Mr William,
thank you for your comment.
When you rent an apartment in self catering you always find a welcome kit with olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, except what is a personal choice as the coffee is.
Yes we have few channels but enough to let you enjoy the beauty of the park and all the surrounding nature along with the birds singing.
You have asked to visit the rooms in the hotel and you were suprised and , perhaps in your case the garden deluxe with private balcony would have been better for you and for your needs. We hope you will come back and the next time book on of our garden deluxe room!

it has been a pleasure to meet you and to receive your opinion, we will try to make everything better!

Our stay at Parco Cavalonga was perfect. We had booked the whole hotel for our friends to stay there for our Sicilian wedding. The staff were wonderful - friendly, fun, accommodating every request, going out of their way to make us comfortable and our guests welcome. They helped arrange a fantastic dinner for 30 (the dinners are excellent - a three nut pasta in particular), helped with travel arrangements and were flexible to changes in schedules. We couldn't have asked for more.

The hotel itself is beautiful, set within the surrounding valley and giving the sense of fitting in with the countryside rather than imposing itself upon it. It has rustic charm. The two swimming pools are both beautiful and the top one in particular gives wonderful views. We stayed in a superior room which was clean and spacious and also had a good view. The apartments were ideal for groups of friends and families and were great value given the excellent facilities.

Cavalonga is located near beautiful Ragusa and in short driving distance of loads of other towns, vineyards, beaches, national parks, etc. I really couldn't recommend it more.

Thanks to all the staff and in particular Rosanna, Noemi and Rosangela who made us so welcome and our wedding so special. We will come again.

We spent five days at Parco Cavalonga in mid-April. The Relais is about an hour and twenty minutes drive from Catania airport. It is essentially a small estate in the lovely countryside of the Monte Iblei. And for Montalbano fans, a number of sites where the tv series was shot are close by, so long as you have a car. The staff were delightful -- nothing was too much trouble. There is a buffet breakfast and -- at least at the time of year we went -- dinner is available on certain nights. We ate in on two or three occasions and the food was excellent. This is a place we would go back to.
