I read the reviews for this restaurant and thought that they had been a little exaggerated with the negative portions of the reviews. The decor is dated but in its dated-ness if you will, it has charm. This is a fifties style and the important part is the food. It is clean, bright, almost too bright but at least you can see. There is not much privacy but the tables are large and comfortable. The service was perfect, the waiters are efficient and easy. The owner comes by to take your order and to tell you what is on the menu. Beware, there is not a printed menu, this is one of those places where you know you will spend a good deal of money but the food is worth it. You can tour the fish on ice before sitting down and when he comes, take his specialties. We took his suggestions and did not regret it. The fish ravioli with a pureed scampi and pine nut sauce was out of this world! Never have I ever had anything so sublime, so delicate and refined and this is one of their specialties. The rombo was his suggestion as well and happens to be one of the best fish around. It was cooked to perfection in the oven with artichokes and olives. The only slight negative is the dessert. I found them to be so so although the plate of cookies they bring to finish your meal were fabulous. They open at 8pm and not before and they do like to go home at a decent hour so get there on time, eat and be happy. :-)
