It was a nice hotel. Huge bathroom, large room and lovely balcony. All at an excellent price. A little traffic noisy in the mornings at the front. Great food. Fantastic breakfast (hot) included in the price. Restaurant had the best seafood risotto I have ever had. We paid 55 euro for 1 entree, 2 x main courses and ½ carafe of wine. Can’t complain though because they gave us a free dessert. Service was exceptional.

No one told us about the roof top area until the last day. Make sure you find the roof top bar and seating area (above the pool) – it is great to entertain guests or have a quiet drink in the afternoon. Drinks were fairly expensive. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They will drive you to the beach and other restaurants. The local buses are easy though and if you coordinate your dinner with the bus timetable you can use them to get home or else walk like everyone else.

Most of the guests were American. The hotel has a sort of old world feel but it is clean and modern but a little dated. Sounds like a contradiction but that is the best way to describe it. There was not one thing that was missing from the room that we needed from free wifi to tissues.

They provided free parking across the street for our entire stay. We didn’t use our car while we were there. If you are driving in it would be easier (and less hair-raising) to come from Sorrento than from Salerno (we left via Sorrento so discovered this too late). We rang the hotel to get last minute instructions on the way as we got a little lost. Italian’s do not care about their side mirrors and will take yours out if you do not pull right over to the side of the road. If you park make sure your mirrors are folded in. Anticipate what is coming around the corner and stop if you think it is wise.

Conveniently located for the public buses for other tourist attractions in the area. We walked just about everywhere. Nice quiet area much nicer in our opinion than Positano which is very touristy. Definitely catch the bus to Bomerano and do the whole Sentiero degli Dei walk. It is spectacular and fairly easy from this direction (except walking down the steps at the end!!).

Do a day trip around and onto Capri on the la boa diving centre boat. They pick you up from the hotel and it is an exceptionally good trip, absolutely not to be missed.

I would like to say nothing gracious about the Hotel Margherita, its staff or the town of Praiano in the hopes of keeping it all to myself. But I can’t. The Amalfi Coast is a must for any Italian destination vacation. It is unlike any vacation elsewhere in the world. You can get a taste of small town Italy with surreal sights and beautiful people. The food is as incredible as the vistas within which it grows.

The Hotel Margherita offers all the amenities that can be asked for and the meals onsite are nothing short of 5 Star. Praiano is definitely on the list of locales to visit again some day and there is no question that Hotel Margherita is where we will be staying for our visit.

Definitely and highly recommended.

Room Tip: Ocean view available.

The best value-for-money hotel we stayed in during our week's holiday along the Amalfi Coast.
Even though the rooms are small, they are immaculately clean and very well serviced. Our first night we had a room with a view, and subsequently were moved (due to availability) and the view from our balcony was just spectacular.
Andrea and Suela go to every effort to keep you informed on how to get around, and drive you to and from the bus stops and the beach which is very helpful.
All the other staff were also very helpful, and nothing was ever too much to ask or too difficult.

The absolute highlight of Hotel Margherita is the restauarant - Mamas. I dont have enough time to write about how excellent the food was. Every meal was made with the freshest ingredients and no meal was a disappointment. We had planned to go to a view restaurants in Positano on our 3 night stay, and cancelled all our reservations after our first meal there.

The only thing I would say is that the hotel can be quite noisy in the mornings. This did not bother us, but may be a prerequisite for other travellers

Would definitely recommend this hotel as very good value for money, clean and excellent service!

Room Tip: Definitely worth the small extra to have a room with a view!

Recently my husband 2 children (5,10) stayed at the Hotel Margherita. Wonderfully hospitable staff, very child friendly (a rarity), beautiful apartment, great food and magnificent location. Bus at the door so we didn't have to drive, which was good as the roads are not for the faint hearted. Praino is a fabulous place to stay, close to everything but away from the tourist hype. We all had a fabulous stay and would not hesitate to stay again and recommend it to friends.

One of our best travel experiences ever. I started out feeling like a Queen and ended up feeling like family. Wonderful advice for travel back to Roma and very helpful suggestions during our 5 day stay. Would advise anyone to spend their Amalfi Coast experience with Suela and Andrea and their attentive staff.
