Great location with superb views of Orvieto. The villa was comfortable and well appointed. It had its own private pool plus a barbecue area and a lovely outdoor seating area with a gazebo for al fresco dining.
Good access to Orvieto , the lake at Balsena and also not too far to Assisi.
The owner is charming and provided us with some of his own eggs, tomatoes and grapes...plus a bottle or two of wine! All in all a lovely place to stay...
The house holds every facility you can possibly need. We (family with three kids, 2, 5 and 7 years of age) enjoyed it very much. The garden is spacious enough to do lots of other games once you want a break from swimming.
The surrounding area is stunningly beautiful; green hill sides as far as you can see. The city of Orvieto is like walking through history, the way Italian cities can be.
You definitely need a (rental) car.
The only reason we did not rate 5 out of 5 is the mattrasses; they need replacement.
We stayed here for the second week of our honeymoon and had a fabulous time! The house had everything we needed (sheets / towels / all cooking utensils) and the outside space was amazing and absolutely huge! The gardens and pool were beautifully maintained and having a mini pool house with kitchenette and bathroom was so handy. The photos on the website really don't do it justice. The house and pool are for your sole use and while Alvaro visited daily to water the garden he came so early we never saw him. Orvieto is about a 10 minute drive away. We really couldn't have asked for a better week and a huge thank you to Alvaro and his family for being so charming and welcoming!
Had a lovely week at Casal Lavista in the September sun. The house, pool and gardens are lovely & scrupulously clean. Amazing view over the hill town of Orvieto. Quiet rural location but close to lots of local amenities. The family owners are very friendly and discrete. We enjoyed their gifts of homemade wine & fresh eggs. Would definitely stay again
