We simply did not want to leave. Just a mile outside of the mountaintop city of Montepulciano, but nowhere near the rest of the world, we quickly realized we could and did spend half of our week here rather than touring.
Not to say we didn't go out every day, but we made sure we spent late afternoons here by the pool with wine, beer and a book.
Our honeymoon suite(yes we were celebrating our recent wedding) included a balcony overlooking a rustic valley bathed in sunshine during the day, starlight at night, and you should be so lucky, one evening a spectacular lightning display over the hills of Tuscany.
Of course, our hosts made this a perfect stay. Mara with a breakfast display from fruits to pastries to cereals, and the dopio espresso was to die for.
We took advantage of her cooking class one night, suffice to say she could open a restaurant if she so desired.
If you can tear yourself away from their flower bedecked grounds, Terenzio is a wealth of knowledge of Tuscany, its history and how to get there.
Buon Viaggio!

Beautiful place, wonderful people. Romantic, great location. In an active vineyard historic B & B. A great experience. The room was fantastic, clean, comfortable and a Exceptional breakfast. They also gave great advice for traveling and experiencing Tuscany and they made dinner reservation to outstanding restaurants. You need to travel by car.

Room Tip: We were Danalto , has private entrance to the grounds and pool. Very private with jacuzzi tub.

Idyllic Tuscan setting with incredible view of Montepulciano & Tuscan Countryside. Staff was beyond courteous and attentive as was the owner whom was ready to share local travel tips or make reservations.

Our room was very comfortable and as it appeared on the website. No false marketing here. Excellent location and would come stay here again!!!

We stayed here as the second to last stop on a ten day tour of Italy, and it’s a good thing we did. If we would have started at Ortaglia I don’t think we went to any of our other destinations! It has the most breathtaking views, the host are the kind of people you want to become lifelong friends with, and whole place feels very romantic. Exactly what you want from a bed and breakfast in Italy, but so much more. We will be staying here for a night or two on every future trip to Italy, we can’t believe how lucky we were to find it. The food was also amazing, fresh eggs from the chickens on property and everything!

This is the most beautiful place that I have ever been. The views are breathtaking, the smells of the garden and varietal flowers are intoxicating, and the hosts are incredibly accommodating. There is no debate, we will return and once again recieve one of the most relaxing and magical experiences there is. I cannot express it enough, experience this location if you can.
