The hotel is set right on the beach and has amazing views over the sea and headlands from the sea view rooms and the restaurant. The hotel is a little quirky and the internet was non existent, despite being given an access code. The breakfast was not really adequate but despite these things I would still recommend this hotel as the staff were friendly and the evening meals very good with home cooked food.

Don't be expecting great internet here...the folks that run Le Sirene havn't figured it out and have their 8 year old do it.....

Room acceptable, view from room great, dinner good, picnic good, breakfast OK.

Landlord had a poor attitude mixing any drink that wasn't traditionally Italian which is weird to say the least given his Italian house wine was undrinkable.

Room Tip: Beach front

A wonderful small family run hotel in a perfect spot on a small and secluded beach. This was our middle stop of three on a walking break on the Sorrento Peninsula and a most welcome contrast to the other grander and larger hotels situated in the much busier tourist trap areas. After a fairly tough walk from near Positano we arrived to be greeted with a warm welcome from Marinella and with our requests for cold drinks immediately met as we made our way to our room. We had one of those with a sea view and just about enough space for two chairs on the tiny balcony, but that was fine as it’s another part of the homely charm of this place. The room was fairly basic but nicely decorated and very clean.

The restaurant terrace faces out to sea and is close to the shoreline and so it’s a fabulous place to be at any time of the day. On our first night we were invited to try the fantastic antipasto selection followed by the speciality spaghetti. The antipasto alone would have been enough for our appetites and unfortunately we found the spaghetti to be just a little too much and a bit ‘heavy’ for our taste. On our second and final night we were able to discuss what we’d like (written menus don’t appear to exist here) and went for a seafood platter that was probably the best we’ll ever have anywhere. Service and recommendation on wine from the young waiter was also excellent.

The restaurant with the jetty to the right is apparently a stop off for celebrity diners who boat round from Capri and has the photos to prove it while there are some more great views if you walk around the headland to the left towards the next bay (about a half hour). If we'd had more time we'd have taken a boat trip to Baia Jeranto.

A place you’ll be sorry to leave and one that’ll stay in the memory.

This is an excellent hotel and restaurant. I wrote a previous review about the best food in the area, that was until we discovered Le Sirene which equals and perhaps even exceeds it. The food is locally sourced, and some of the ingredients they grow themselves. Marinella's cooking is truly marvellous, delicious, and very authentic. Alfonso also does some of the cooking and between them, they provide a breath taking setting, with delicious food, and some excellent wines. It is all very low key and relaxed, nothing is too much trouble and what is more they make it all look effortless. Ask for Alfonso 'Sblaglio Ciocciolato Bianco,' the most delicious white chocolate cake with no sugar. On the other hand, he may be in the middle of making something else which he will describe. Although there is a menu which is great, they will also offer you things they have that day. We thoroughly enjoyed the antipasti which is comprised of different local dishes. Truly delicious.

We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and though marked as 3 star, some aspects of it were better than 4 start hotels we stayed in elsewhere on the Amalfi coast. The sea views are wonderful, you can hear the sound of the waves from your room at night, the place is spotlessly clean, the nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Internet access in the area can be problematic, and the air conditioning works ok in the evenings on a timed system. Other travellers may want air con they can control themselves though this didn't bother us. There is wonderful walking nearby and Marinella and Alfonso will advise on this, where to park, how to get buses. If you want a boat trip they will organise that too.

Don't by-pass this little place, it is stunning and well worth a visit. It is packed with Italians at weekends which says a lot and is in itself a good recommendation. An real gem of a place with the best people you could meet running a really good establishment.

Room Tip: we had a room at the front of the hotel with sea view, you hear the waves all night. We spoke to other people staying who had a room at the back with mountain views and apparently a larger patio. The patio is small in the sea facing rooms, but as the hotel is on the beach, this wasn't a problem for us.

On a magnificent cruise on the Gulf of Salerno enjoying the Almalfi Coast with family we stopped for lunch at this wonderful restaurant, Ristorante da Esterina. Brother (waiter) & sister (Chef) ownership received us as royalty and proceeded to suggest menu items. We finally gave them carte blanche and were not disappointed. The meal was by far the best I have ever had and I've had thousands all over the world. Don't even bother with the menu, trust in the owners.
