we recently stayed at the Antica Villa Graziella for 1 night in May. we needed a place to stay with easy access to the Marco Polo airport and this fit the bill perfectly. our room was quiet, clean and comfortable and impressively designed (though cramped) but it was fine for our overnight stay. the staff is very friendly and helpful. the breakfast was good and its an easy 20 minute walk back to the train station. highly recommended.

We would recommend this hotel to anyone. Very good value and clean. Breakfast each morning was worth getting up for. Staff was helpful spoke excellent English. Location is only a 20 min ride to Venice which is an added benefit.

This review is for the La Torre apartment, offered by Antica Villa Graziella. The apartment is just across the road from AVG proper. You check in at the hotel desk, and you can also choose to have your breakfasts in the hotel. Car parking is available off-street (free) or in the hotel grounds (leave your key). The apartment is in a rather nondescript apartment block, on the 3rd floor. Be aware there is no lift and you have to bring your own luggage up the flights of stairs. Once inside, there are two spacious rooms, with lots of open shelves to deposit your travel belongings. The sitting cum dining room is comfortable, with a table area (seating four), fridge and sofa set. The kitchenette, hidden around the corner, hosts a toaster oven, and a two hob electric burner, together with a basic set of cooking pots/pans and utensils. There is also a Moka coffee pot. The kitchenette is very compact - you will not fit more than one person in, and cooking is going to be a very basic affair. The compact theme continues in the shower, where every mod con is present, but in a deliciously compact but functional space. Decor is mostly in the IKEA style, but none to worse for it. The apartment has airconditioning and heating for winter. Trash is deposited back at the hotel proper.
Service from the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a problem with the wifi which they could not resolve then, but they did try really hard and offered us the use of the wifi at the main building.
Travel to Venice is hassle free - there is a direct bus which necessitates a 5 min walk from the apartment, and the journey takes 15-20 mins to Venice main bus station. From there, its a simple hop on to the vaporetto. Be aware that the Venice bus can get very crowded, and sometimes it is standing room only. In close proximity to the AVG is a large ALI supermarket (5 mins), several recommended restaurants, and easy access to the main Autostrada leading into Mestre.
If you have decided to stay in Mestre, and wish an uncomplicated but comfortable apartment, look no further.

Antica Villa is located about 15 minutes from the heart of Venice. My daughter and I stayed two separate times in October while on a 2 week vacation in Italy. The hotel was very clean an the front desk staff was very helpful. My only negative comment is the lack of an elevator to carry your luggage. The desk staff was very kind to help us carry our luggage up the steep steps! The front staff helped us find the tram and tickets necessary for travel to Venice. There is a grocery store behind the hotel where my daughter and I purchased roasted chicken, veg. and wine. We dined on the outside tables at the hotel. There is a lovely walled garden out front. Our first room was a single with a tiny bath but with a wonderful private balcony, a rare treat in Europe! Our stay our last 2 nights in Italy we had a room with 2 twin beds and folding bunk beds on the wall. The bath was twice the size of the single room. I had problems using my tablet to check in with the airline. The front desk staff allowed me to use their computer to check in and print our boarding passes. I recommend this hotel for its value, cleanliness and helpful front staff.
