My partner and I attended Sole Ristorante for dinner this evening after having been to their beach cafe for lunch several times and having a reasonably priced lunch and reading a couple of the good reviews on Trip advisor. Sadly we had a very disappointing experience at the restaurant! We asked the waiter what the fish of the day meal was and he explained to us that it was baked sole with potatoes and a mixture of tomatoes, capers and olives. I myself am not keen on baked fish, but the waiter made it sound so nice and my partner was keen so we went for it under the impression after our conversation with him that is was €15 per person (a price immediate below the description on the menu also). Sadly the food was not to my taste at all- it was bland and greasy and I had to pass it over to my partner and swap with his empty plate (I don't like to look rude by leaving a barely touched meal) after only a couple of mouthfuls. That in itself would not have stopped me returning to the restaurant as many of the other dishes on other people's tables looked appetising. It is worth mentioning that the fish portion size was also quite small after being filleted. However, when it came to the bill we were expecting to pay approximately €60 based on our one glass of wine each, water, coperto and starters. To our horror the bill came in at €80 and when we looked our main course was charged at €50! Firstly sole is a very cheap fish and certainly not €50 worth (especially for the amount we received), secondly it was bland, I barely ate mine and thought it was a very poor quality meal for this price. When we queried with the waiter he told us that there is no set price for fish of the day and that there was a blank space on the menu where the price should be, despite during our discussions prior to ordering that we were led to believe it was €15 each. In our opinion this was a very low quality main course at an extortionate price and we felt duped by the waiter! We will not return here during the rest of our holidays now and won't even go to their beach cafe for lunch out of principle! If you choose to go here make sure you set out in stone the cost of any dishes that are not clearly labelled on the menu!!

dear lady, from this review you may well notice that you don't understand anything about fish and seafood.
How can a kilo and half DIAMOND FISH costs 15 euros? If you understand at least a minimum of FRESH CATCH you would not be surprised at the price! I would be scared if I had to pay a fresh fish in a restaurant only 15 euros!
It is normal and logical that the portion of the fish decreases once drawn up by removing the head, bones, tail and skin, THAT IGNORANCE!!! You said it was not good JUST BECAUSE YOU PAID A LOT (even though you were told.) The nearby pricing menu exists mainly to be informed of all the costs and ingredients. Next time I challenge you to eat fresh fish from any other seaside resort and pay less than 50 euros.

Came here after a long hard day at the beach and ordered the house wine bianco and some appetizers (stuffed squid and prosciutto & melon). Everything was absolutely delicious and the service was top! I even tried to leave my table quickly as a solo traveler and the main waiter told me to relax and enjoy the sun a while longer :) definitely recommended!

Good prices. Lots of choice on the menu. Fab location. I wish I could remember the waiter's name, he was so wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. Me and my husband both had pizzas. They were so tasty! Top service. Lovely staff.

Usually we are reluctant to eat at seaside / main drag restaurants thinking they might be tourist focused with poor food and/or high prices. Hesitantly, we ventured into Sole one evening and were thrilled with our choice. In fact, we returned the next evening. This is a fairly new restaurant with a stylish decor. There is an excellent wine selection. In fact, an impressive glassed-in wine room to explore. The food was very good and the service professional.

Great great great.
The decor, the food (simple no fancyness...but tasty tasty)
The menu is based on the local dishes and products. The pizzas oh mama mia.
Sole has also (the only restaurant on the coast) an historical speciality from Livorno called "farinata"...curious? Go to Sole and taste it.
The winw list is very good, the Restaurant also arranges private wine tastistings with a professional sommelier and wine maker, they have a lovely private "wine room" for tastings or intime meals.
The palce is runned by the Amatruda Family, Gaetano (papa) Lorri (mama) and the 3 daugthers Carolina, Cristiana and the famous Francesca (the F&B manager, and a great bartender...try her cocktails). In the restaurant you can also find Georgina and Toni. Fridays and Saturdays i advice reservations.
