First impressions count and checking into Livigno’s newest and surely most modern hotel, the Montivas Lodge and being warmly welcomed by managers Daniel and Cristiano was a super introduction to this uber cool resort.

The vast majority of properties in town are steeped in tradition and charm with fairy tale timber architecture befitting the beautiful resort. The class A energy rated Montivas on the other hand is the new kid on the block – full of colour, alpine imagery and sharp interior design with a ski-in ski-out location in the San Rocco area.

Our rooms were big with large windows out to a little balcony with a lovely snowy view. The buffet breakfast was a massive highlight - DIY fresh fruit/veggie juices, make your own eggs, a huge array of pastries and local salumi and cheese kept the entire family well fed and family before hitting the slopes.

The San Rocco ski area & ski school is directly out the back. Out the front is the bus stop heading in both directions up and down the valley - so getting anywhere is easy.

There are plenty of excellent restaurants & bars within walking distance of various styles and budgets.

I stayed at the hotel for 2 months over the summer and it was one of the most wonderful stays! Everything is new, modern and functional. The breakfast is beyond amazing – there's pretty much anything your heart desires (also for vegans!). The hotel is about a 10min walk to the center, which in my opinion is great – the area is always calm at night. And the wifi is great (I freelance and a good internet connection is a must)!!! Last but not least, the staff is super nice, welcoming and can provide you with any information you might need to enjoy Livigno. HIGHLY recommended – I will be back for sure this winter and fingers crossed next summer. Thank you so much Montivas!!!
