I have no patience for whiny baby travelers who trash a restaurant if they couldn't get the reservation time they wanted or had trouble parking and consequently moan about the service. I have been to this place several times and it is magnificent. The food is just superb, a bountiful mix of traditional Ligurian cuisine with just the right amount of innovation (but definitely not some extreme tiny-portion exotic-curries-on-pesto-abomination for 40 Euros). The service is courteous and friendly--unless, as some reviewers reveal, you come in with a bad attitude and act like a spoiled, entitled American. Relax, be flexible, be Italian, and they will treat you like family and feed you like a king. I have two favorite places in Lerici, the other being simpler traditional family-style food. This place, Bonta Nascosta, is well known as the class of the town and deserving of the highest praise. If you want to whine, please stay away because neither the owners, nor anybody in Lerici, nor regular visitors to my adopted home town want you there either. I am sure that you can find a McDonalds in Sarzana or La Spezia that will make you feel at home.

Attracted by its atmosphere we asked if we could have dinner at this place but the answer was as brief as clear: 'full'. So, the next day we booked a table for dinner. We chose the raw fish antipasti (€60 for 2 pax) , the grilled steak and the veal. It was clear we did not belong to the 'friends' of this place: staff was not very friendly and after they told several people that at 22:00 there would be space they didn't even bother to ask us (21:50) if we would like a dessert. Instead we were prompted for coffee leaving us under the impression they wanted us to leave. An inconvenient way of treating customers spending over €160 for food that was reasonable (veal and antipasti, steak wasn't delicious). Try Mare Blu down the road with a terrace less appealing, but great food at half the price and welcoming staff.

Excellent dinner at Bonta Nascoste a couple of dats ago. The food was very good (had tuna tartar and carbonara with smoked tuna and shrimps) and the service was flawless. All in all a superb dinner, highly recommended!

Gourmet restaurant, with beautifully presented food, top class service and an all round special occasion.

This is a very nice restaurant, with quite good food, but when we were there on a weekday night at about eight o'clock, we were the only people in the restaurant on a chilly October evening, which didn't really bother us at all. The curious thing was that we were there for two hours while having a shared antipasto and a pasta dish each, and it was obvious for long stretches of time that we had each finished the particular thing we were eating, but the one female waitress and the one chef were busily conversing somewhere in the back and I wasn't about to chase her down and make an issue of it. A rather unprofessional performance, I thought. Doubt we'll go back, but the food, when it arrived was pretty good.
