Friendly and family like

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 11 Aug 2022
Hello,
We went for the second time on a row (always a good sign) and found the hotel even better than the last time. Excellent location, young and friendly staff and a charismatic owner. The food is simple but good and the beach is a gem.
Happy to recommend, especially to families !

We wanted a family friendly Hotel as a base to visit my daughter, her Italian husband and our four-year-old granddaughter Newly reburbished room are a pleasure. It is very, very good value for money. Goof room service clean towels etc every day
We overlooked the eating area which is outside undercover in a beautiful garden. It is cool and pleasant to sit in and there is a play area within view with toys bikes and prams and see saws ana roundabout, so we could enjoy a long chatty dinner watching her play There have a different menu each day with choices for vegan etc. Very reasonably priced It is all delicious. Italians do cook good food and the restaurant staff were really good with the little girl and fun for us. In fact all the staff in the Hotel were extremely helpful.
The Hotel is very close to the beach where there is a saltwater pool with good classes. On the beach we had a tent with sunbeds and chairs where we could all hang out by the sea, a long lovely sandy beach with lots of little shells. I love walking along the shore.
We had great quality time with our daughter and family and we all felt a lot better for it. It was a great gift. Thank you Rafaelli Angela.

The Tuscan seaside town of Forte dei Marmi has been a regular summer destination for well-to-do Italian families for decades. My grandmother, my mother, my husband and I, our three kids...we all return year after year. And the best place to stay by far is the Villa Angela--a charming, friendly, and very convenient pensione two blocks from the sea. Beautiful gardens, a calm, green environment for morning breakfast and post-beach aperitivi, not to mention an evening cafe' and chat. The beach offers a unique amenity: a large swimming pool at the bagno, perfect for days when the sea is a bit off, but one wants to remain on the beach, lounging under umbrellas and "tende" (for large groups)in orderly rows, in front of an endless line of brightly colored cabine that are characteristic of Forte's beachfront. As you swim in the sea, look up at the backdrop of the Apuan Alps, often topped with snow. Also at the beach, or bagno, a wonderful lunch is served. Or you can opt to return to the hotel, where the dining room is excellent and serves lunch and dinner. After dinner, it is just a short stroll--or bike ride--into town--full of bars, restaurants, ice cream, elegant boutiques and elegant people, rides for kids, and a long fishing pier. There are huge open air markets on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, and special events throughout the year. Signorina Angela, Signora Donella, and staff will welcome you with open arms. They have also created a lovely bed-and-breakfast option for off-season months. The town and beach are quieter and still beautiful, perfect for long walks, relaxing meals, and drives into the mountains behind. One local site is the quarry that is the source of Tuscan marble. There are many other local delights to be discovered! Emily R., NY and Florence

Room tip: Some rooms and suites are in separate small buildings set in the garden; in the main building, many rooms have terraces.

Quaint, unassuming, friendly, yet caring owner Angela saunters and greets as If everyone is part of a big family.

Great meals, attention to details, set up on the beach, and excellent worry-free location under the sun of Tuscany.

Room tip: You must have lunch at the beach.

For over 30 years our families have been going to this lovely, bucolic, full-service resort in one of the best towns on the Mediterranean Sea! My children and now also my teenage grandchildren and grandnieces and nephews have also! The pleasant garden setting is joy for all ages, and the cucina Italiana is extraordinary and varied. I recommend the full pension with the option of lunch at the beach. The beach club with all its amenities is just a few steps aways and a place for all ages. Angela, the owner, is a delight and so is the rest of her accommodating staff! We started spending our holidays there as a couple, graduated to parents, moved on to families with babies, now teenagers, and expect to spend our seniors years there also! VERY accommodating for both the old and very young and everyone in between! A Seas0ned Traveler
