I was excited to try Logos after reading reviews about the friendliness of the staff and I must say the (few) staff who are actually employed there were very pleasant. The owner/manager, however, made no attempt to make concessions for the fact that we had no air conditioning and did not sleep all night as the room temperature neared 85 degrees! We even called the front desk at around 4 a.m. and were assured that he just set the temperature much lower (18 degrees celsius) via computer and that it should begin to work, however, when we spoke to the owner/manager the next day we clearly saw on the computer screen that the temperature was set to 25 degrees! In fact, it still did not appear to be working after 4 a.m. and we weren't sure whether to open the window because doing so turns off the air, so the situation only made us feel anxious as well as sweaty and tired. The guy at the front desk said to call back 'eventually' if we still had issues (at 4 a.m. this is not what we wanted to hear). Supposedly guests can regulate the air from in the room but they obviously control it from the front desk (and are NOT honest about it). We tried this hotel with 'Secret Escapes,' which offers discounts during the off season from participating hotels. This is the first year Logos participated but, evidently, the owner is too stingy to include air conditioning in the offer (and is not up front about it). We were going to stay two nights but were in the lobby early in the morning to check out. His concession was to 'allow' us to check out ahead of schedule. Then he offered to deduct 20 euros. I explained this was unacceptable given the fact that we couldn't sleep all night and felt like we were in an oven. He replied saying there were 'costs' to cover, such as the breakfast, which was scarse and unappealing, to say the least. I also told him that I would likely write a review and let future guests decide for themselves. Still, little attempt to make concessions, and I don't believe I should have to fight for them in the first place given the fact that they purposely withheld air conditioning just to try to save some money. Bad way to do business. We had no problem paying the bill; it's the 'principle' that matters, but the owner apparently has little of them. I'm giving a low rating on service because the owner/manager should lead by example (rest of staff were very nice). I live in Italy and am used to the customer service issues, so I am usually more tolerant, but this was also dishonest. When we saw that the temperature was set to 25, they said nothing, and even tried to haggle over additional charges (there was a 15 euro charge for bringing a small dog, but we didn't bring him and rather than remove 15 euro they tried to reduce it to 10 euro etc).
