When you're dropping off family members for a cruise, you kind of expect the area near the port to be full of low quality, high price restaurants. But not in this case - what a pleasant surprise! We had reserved for 4, and it wasn't the easiest place to find, but a GPS or even a downloaded map will make it just fine. A taxi from the port would work, too. We sat in a back room with open windows and a lovely breeze, and started looking over the menu. The proprietor came in and asked if he could help...and we explained in our rudimentary Italian that we'd like some seafood appetizers and some pasta. He started to smile, suggested a few things, we negotiated amongst ourselves, and the fun began. They brought four antipasti, including mussels and crispy calamari, and then some lovely pasta. Plenty of extra plates for sharing, extra water, nice bread, they really made our lunch into an Italian event rather than just a bite to eat. And the cost: fixed price, 17.50E per person. What a good bargain, what a good time.
