Have a great lunch here for fish and fill your bottle of wine how much you want!
Choose the raw fish for antipasto
And also the sweets

You definitely go to Ostaria del Mare to savour fish, fish, and then more fish.
Their menu is only a couple of pages, plus the added page for the daily specials, but that is the way I think most menus should look like, i.e. not like heavy tomes which only manage to overwhelm the customer and make their choice all the more difficult.
We went for one of the regular starters (grilled sword razor and grilled prawns with sea salt) and two daily specials (stewed baby octopus with polenta, and mixed gratin). To die for.
As we wished to get as far as the second course, and portions are rather generous, we decided to share a first course, which was a complete novelty: black cappelletti with clams and mussels. The black dough for the cappelletti is made by adding squid ink to the flour and eggs. The filling of this type of pasta (normally mortadella and Parmesan cheese) is only fish-based in this case. The end product is a delight.
At the end of the first course, we thought we barely had any room left for the second course, but the restaurant's grand fry is some kind of tradition for us, so we decided to share one dish.
Eventually, we also managed to "stuff ourselves" some of the complimentary - delicious - mini-desserts, washed down with a sip of limoncello (the lemon liqueur of Southern Italian origin) or its licorice-based counterpart.
I feel like going back to Ostaria del Mare any day when I am in the area.
