Just returned home from 8 days in Tuscany.
For 3 days we stayed at the Campastrello Sport. Its an ideal place to kick back and unwind.
It has hotel accommodation, and 20 or so self catering apartments.
There were 3 of us and we stayed in the one bedroom apartment. Its two storey, with double room and bathroom on 1st floor, double sofa bed, bathroom, small kitchenette on ground floor. Huge fridge, tv and internet access. Also has small patio out front, ideal for drying your towels off!!
This is where the Italians go to relax, we were only Brits there (not that im complaining!) However, not all the staff speak English so its good to have basic grasp of the lingo (but dont let that put you off going)
Pool is brilliant, 25m, diving board and surrounded by new loungers - even has male/female changing rooms with toilets and showers.
Whole area is lovely, you can walk around - we saw at least 5 different types of fruit growing on the estate. Two tennis courts, basketball court, kids play area.
Lovely meals too, however there is a Co-op in Donaretico (few mins drive from hotel) if you want to do the self catering bit.
If you want a tip for nice trip from here - try San Vincenzo - only about 20 mins down coast and far nicer than Marina di Castagneto.
We drove down from Pisa and only took about an hour (would have been less but it had been a while since id driven abroad!!) Very easy to find, and its an ideal place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet and stunning Tuscan scenery.
