The service here was terrific! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. The grounds were lovely and the rooms spacious and clean. Pool was large and grass was unparrelled. Easy to get from here by bike to all major cities and attractions in Tuscany.

We visited a few wine estates in the Alta Maremma last week and this property was recommended to us. It's near the Tuscan Coast, quiet and rural. The rooms are so charming and the outdoor seating areas have a wonderful lodge feel. It exceeded my expectations for 105 euros a night. I wished we could have stayed longer to sit outside at night and drink Bolgheri wines under the twilight. It's a little challenging to pull your luggage down the gravel walkway to the reception, but having rooms and offices away from the road has its benefits.

Great hotel with some apartments attached as well. We were 2 couples and stayed in one of the apartments. The lack of English speaking staff did cause us some problems, but that is par for the course in Italy. They have a great little outdoor cafe/bar, but under a roof. It is also the only place where internet will work. A great place for families due the many sporting activities available. However it is located out of town, too far to walk into town for shopping or for a cafe. A car is needed as it is approx 5km from town.

Just returned home from 8 days in Tuscany.

For 3 days we stayed at the Campastrello Sport. Its an ideal place to kick back and unwind.
It has hotel accommodation, and 20 or so self catering apartments.
There were 3 of us and we stayed in the one bedroom apartment. Its two storey, with double room and bathroom on 1st floor, double sofa bed, bathroom, small kitchenette on ground floor. Huge fridge, tv and internet access. Also has small patio out front, ideal for drying your towels off!!

This is where the Italians go to relax, we were only Brits there (not that im complaining!) However, not all the staff speak English so its good to have basic grasp of the lingo (but dont let that put you off going)

Pool is brilliant, 25m, diving board and surrounded by new loungers - even has male/female changing rooms with toilets and showers.

Whole area is lovely, you can walk around - we saw at least 5 different types of fruit growing on the estate. Two tennis courts, basketball court, kids play area.

Lovely meals too, however there is a Co-op in Donaretico (few mins drive from hotel) if you want to do the self catering bit.

If you want a tip for nice trip from here - try San Vincenzo - only about 20 mins down coast and far nicer than Marina di Castagneto.

We drove down from Pisa and only took about an hour (would have been less but it had been a while since id driven abroad!!) Very easy to find, and its an ideal place to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet and stunning Tuscan scenery.

The Campastrello Sport is a superb seaside hotel by the Etruscan Coast in Tuscany only minutes drive from the picturesque Tuscan town of Castagneto Carducci. We had a lovely 2 day stopover in this hotel before driving up to Milan. The hotel has a 25 metre pool and the rooms are spacious airy and above all completely brand new... apparently the Hotel Residence only opened last year. We had a game of tennis, lazed by the swimming pool and enjoyed the fabulous tuscan cuisine in the evening which was washed down with some of the best Chianti I have ever had! I definately recommend the Campastrello Sport for anyone who is looking for a hotel in Tuscany with a swimming pool not far from the Tuscan Seaside.
