We stayed at the Hotel Columbus for one night and loved the location. The hotel fronts a lovely flower-filled square/park and the lakeside, with its cafes and little beach. We had a triple on the second floor and it was comfortable, replete with a deck (which we did not use, as the view from the deck was not particularlyt interesting and the cafes opposite the hotel on the lakefront were a much nicer spot for passing time). The decor was a bit dated, but the hotel was very clean and comfortable. The prices seemed a bit high to me, given that this was not Florence (or even Orvieto). Breakfast costs also struck us as higher than normal (normally they are included in the room price), so we had an Italian breakfast of espresso & cornetto at one of the cafes on the waterfront. Inexpensive and in a beautiful setting! There was some sort of conference going on at the hotel while we were there, so it was pretty full (in contrast to one of the earlier reviews). Internet was available at a lobby computer, for a charge. All in all, our experience at this hotel was fine. Bolsena was an interesting place to explore for an afternoon, as well.
