“Lovely lunch at loveday's. ”
Review of Loveday's

Loveday's
Ranked #8 of 14 Restaurants in Charlestown
Price range: US$4 - US$36
Description: Loveday’s is a Cornish name that celebrates the art of coming together, sharing food, conversation and great company. The heritage of our restaurant reflects our links with the sea, the old spice routes from East Asia, all the way up through the Mediterranean and back to Cornwall. We adore fish, and you’ll experience that with our food here at Loveday’s. Above all, with our international Chefs, Andy and Andre at the helm of our ship, we want to give you the food of the sailors. The tastes and foods they’d eat while at home with their families, followed by the seafood they’d live off while sailing the high seas and the spices they’d have discovered on their adventures.

Loveday's is a fairly new venue in Cornwall and decided to choose the restaurant for a birthday celebration meal with friends, we were not disappointed. The venue has been totally refreshed and is great internally, the menu gives fantastic variety and choice including a good specials board. Very locally sourced ingredients, creatively prepared and some great fish sharing platters. Good choice of wines and cocktails too.

Loved our evening at Loveday's, highly recommend and we will be returning soon.

This place is quite good to have lunch. It won't break any culinary records but the food served is wholesome and value for money.

The choice of menu was rather restrictive for our taste buds.

Good - I ordered the coronation chicken sandwich which was excellent. My wife ordered the beans on toast and this was again tasty.

Not so good - The kids ordered a toasted bacon sandwich and a toasted cheese sandwich. Both were basically a toasted wedge with bacon or cheese in the middle. Unfortunately slightly burnt.

The surroundings were pleasant and the customer service was attentive.

Absolutely loved this place, i was pleasantly surprised as I climbed the steps to the restaurant as I had not expected such a great place. We chose from the specials board I had Mackeral with salsa sauce (I cannot remember what it was called) my husband had fried squid in a hot tomatoe sauce. The food was fantastic, so tasty I wish I could eat it again today. The menu looked great and reasonably priced. The interior was well designed with quirky metal fish and pebbles hanging from the ceiling and lots of vintage type furniture. It was fantastic and staff were young but friendly and confident and attentive enough. Absolutely recommend it.

First visit, sat outside on the 'deck'. Pleasant attentive staff, food & drinks all served pronto. When we left I thought my partner had paid the bill and vice versa; about fifteen minutes later we realised that neither of us had paid, so sheepishly returned. Fortunately the restaurant hadn't realised our error so we still have no criminal records.
